  • WA Trip to our "close" Neighbours Melbourne

    Hey,

I've been thinking that it would be cool to go for the ultimate cruise along the nullarbor to Melbourne as every Australian should do. I was just looking for an expression of interest at the moment to see if anyone would actually want to do it. It would take a bit of planning and quite a bit of money but it would be worth it. Plan is for sometime in jan start of next year.

    Cheers
    Luke

3 of the Opel lads were/are keen. Christmas Holidays seemed to be the best bet. Plan was to hit melbourne and ferry over to Tas. A lot of the Victorian members rave about the tassie roads.

I'm not planning on it, but would a cooler month be better than january to drive across?

you could even head up to the snow while you are there

Should make it that everyone has to buy a car for under $1000 and take it across Or just you :O

January just due to people being able to get the time off work was the idea. Would be harder for people to do it in the middle of the year.

It's sealed all the way and the roads are as good as around here.

Crossing the Nullarbor is an awsome experience. Both my wife and I did it around 8 years ago ( Sydney to Perth ).
On our return we went via Mt Gambier and the Great Ocean Rd to Melbourne.
The roadhouses out there have some great accommodation, especially Eucla. At Ceduna stay behind the BP Roadhouse ( dont know if is still there ) as the Hotel rooms face the water.
Cruise control will be your friend, cops hide in the bushes along the hwy.
                      You'll have a great time.
