    • Thanks for organising the day Aaron. I was with my wife and the mini crew for the morning and we had a blast!!

I took a few snaps at the day I thought I'd share. I was only meant to be taking shots of minis but I couldn't help myself, so many awesome cars!! Looking forward to the next outing

No worries - Thank You All for coming along - it was good to see everyone having a casual good time! Hope everyone had enough to eat - I got the direct number for the catering manager on the day so that next time there won't be any concern about the number of people coming.

Happy to take feedback on the number of cars on track - I found a couple of areas were a bit busy, but easy fixed by backing off and running in an empty area of track - for my own peace of mind if nothing else. We have to run at least 30 cars, otherwise they won't run the event, and having people drop out even up to the morning of the event is par the for course. We had 3 no shows, in addition to the people who had to pull out and notified. This time was a bit busier as I invited clubMINI, which took a little bit of finding, and found them as we were getting to capacity, but I thought it made the event really interesting with the variety (shame the Z4M couldn't be there), and they seemed to be a switched-on bunch; very courteous on the track and nice to talk to afterwards - that bronze JCW certainly got going as well! Additiontally the APR Polo was a great addition, as was the STI Subey, the 370Z and didn't that Silver S3 go like a cut cat! as well as all the usual suspects.

I also got taken in by the shorter circuit - I was in a conga line at the start and was wondering where the guys in front of me were going before I nearly cleaned up the cones!

I found it quite busy on track, though that is also be due to the shorter format, if on the national circuit, that extra distance would absorb more cars. 37 cars on a 2.2km circuit is going to be busy.

I'd tried to back off to find a gap, though given the number of cars that didn't actually work as we were reasonably consistently spread/ crammed along the track. 30 on the national would be fine.

Happy to be paying more if it turns out that we're below the 30. i.e 30 x $25 = 750. If we ended with 25 on the track it's only $30 each.

In this instance, the shorter track resulted in the tighter field.

There was a little bit of miscommunication with the track staff; when I could eventually got onto them to find out the track configuration, I was told it was the full National, so I wasn't overly concerned about the number of cars. It did bunch up the field in places, although everyone was well behaved and played nice, which was great. I found a couple of less congested spots when I wanted, although the empty area sometimes disappered with gaining cars.

I will check re: reduced numbers and higher entry fee, although in the past they seem to be adamant about having 30 minimum.
