Soooooo looking forward to this! Thanks again for the invite Aaron, hopefully clubMINI will be able to return the favor! My husband Robbie is super keen to be coming as a 'MINI' disguised as his Z4 M Coupe.

i think in order to ensure everyone gets enjoyment with minimal traffic, first timers (esp those with strong straight performance but taking it super easy on corners) should always check the mirrors and let others who have been in your tail for a lap to overtake.

or probably we should use high beam flash to ask permission to pass?

apparently this is common problem caused by first timers on less organised sprint sessions / track days too.

i am hoping for the same level fun as the last QR happy laps

We can ensure that we address passing/holding up etc with instructions and the pre-laps briefing.

Passing has, since the first event, been a case of waiting until it is safe to do so, on the straight, and the with acknowledgement from the driver in front (waving you through). Flashing lights, from my own experience as a recipient is not only startling, but can potentially add an element of danger in that the person passing may assume all is well once they flash lights, but the person in front may still not have an awareness of the vehicle behind, which could lead to things going very pear shaped.

The invitiation of non-VAG vehicles has been intended to make the events interesting - I am looking forward to seeing how the Mini's go on the track - it was suggested to invite them along at the last QR event, and I have been working on it for this event.

As we generally have a few people drop out close to and on the day, there is a good chance that we won't have the full main list number on the track in any case.

AusScare - you are first on the reserve; experience shows a high chance of drop outs from the main list closer to the day - we send out a confirmation PM about a week out from the event and generally find that people have other things crop up or car worries that prevent them from coming along, so there's a good chance you'll be in.
