Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD MK1 Driver's Group - Meet#2

    Hi All,

The first gathering at the Gold Coast Club show was small, but promising. There were four Mk1s still undergoing repairs / rebuilds / etc, so the fledgling group could make double figures by the next meet which is a workshop clinic on Saturday June 2nd from 12 noon at Browns Plain Mechanical, located at the 7-Eleven Service Station at 267 Browns Plains Road (near the intersection of Wembley Road).

The clinic will offer MK1 drivers the opportunity to have their VW put on the hoist for a free inspection, check out some of the new projects currently happening and enjoy a free BBQ. There is plenty of parking. Andrew Bax will have his new 3 door project on display, I'll have my freshly painted '77 four door auto finished, and Chris McGaughey will bring along his MK1 drag car.

To help with catering, please email me at - editor@vwma.net.au

There will also be a 'garage' door prize randomly awarded to one lucky participant and information given on the next group activity.

    See you all there.

    Craig Hughes

Just a reminder that this workshop day for the Qld Mk1 Driver's Group is not far away. The turn-out looks promising. Free BBQ and soft drinks, chance to have your Mk1 inspected on the hoist, and a host of new projects on display. There will also be an announcement regarding Valla and an exciting MK1 track car project for members of the group to race on the Friday of the event.
