i thought it was three? lol haahaha oh man i feel im discriminated against by lakeside safety dudes as im in a red car and in a different car to all the others....i reckon when they are watching us all they see is red. the safety guy probs has something against me as I said to him in the first event that the reason why the track seemed slippery when he took a drive around it is because he was in a crewman.lol it was funny at the time but i rekon he took offense cause I paying out his treasured holden.Originally posted by team_v View Post2 Drivers have been warned of their conduct from the last event so hopefully we won't have any issues this time or in the future.

suncorp and shannons will be the closest you will come to have track insurance which makes sense as suncorp owns shannons, I was told by suncorp that if it wasn't deemed my fault and I have a cams lic and regular servicing of my car then they may cover me but only at sanctioned events. I have sister in law who is an accessor for suncorp and she said she has seen track cars come through who crashed at mount cotton and holden test track and it was covered. but who knows maybe they are "track raciest" or trackiest. lolOriginally posted by Scarlet View PostAnyone know how insuarence companies handel track days? Someone told me that if it is a "sanctioned event" it can be classed as an advanced driver training day and your insurance company will cover you.
I'm with RACQ.

I dont think any of us need to feel unsafe at these events we are all pritty awesome drivers, the skills ive seen so far are pritty sweeettt. and also with clay and redline running the shows we sudnt have any issues....although now that clay has a matte black vw badge we may struggle to see his car on the track which means we may not see it coming and crash.loloolololol jokes man its awesome. we need to hang out sometime!

Probably the same rules as Lakeside i would guess since it's not a dedicated motorsport event.Originally posted by sam_online View PostDo we have any speed limit this time? Since QR is a wider and safer track, I'm thinking of at least a higher limit, if not no
The overtake rules still apply I assume?

2 Drivers have been warned of their conduct from the last event so hopefully we won't have any issues this time or in the future.Originally posted by seangti View PostRACQ don't typically insure for track events, inclusive of track style driver training (I used to be insured with them). Shannons used to if you can prove that you regularly attend driver training, there was a provision around what sort of events are covered, e.g CAMS events, what constitutes driver training, etc. Rule of thumb is that you aren't covered with any provider.
In saying that, QR is a very safe circuit with plenty of run off and little to no undulations, so it's other drivers you need to be mindful of.

No vehicular insurance cover is available for these events, and it is not a sanctioned event.Originally posted by Scarlet View PostAnyone know how insuarence companies handel track days? It is stated that we are driving close to road speeds and as such shouldn't have any issues.
So far we haven't had a problem *touch wood* for the last 4.

Can't wait. I've never done QR, but am looking to start there so this is perfect for learning at a leisurely pace.
As for P-Plater cars - Mk2 Clios seems like a pretty good choice.

I saved every penny I made in like 3 years working ~7 hours a week at the corner store to buy my old vr6. Then I crashed it, which hurt that much more because of how much work I put into it. My new mk3 isnt half as nice as the old one, it was literally mint condition. Ohwell. Haha.
Swapped the new clutch and brakes on, should be all good for this one. Very keen, especially after missing the last two lakeside ones thanks to the car being broken

My first car was a proper one. A mini, not one of the fashion accessory ones but a real 1973 vintage one. It cost the same as a 5 litre bottle of an average synthetic oil these days. The thought of having a car at all let alone a brand new one..... When my daughter gets a license, there'll be no doubts what she drives( will have to campaign to get S3s on the exempt list, so i don't have to buy another car) or who picks up the bill. I can see me using a push bike a lot more to cover the costs. ;0)
