just to clarify for dieselers, the multiplier really is 1.5, says so in the manual in my hands.

That means the effective displacement for classification for a 1.9l TDI is 2844cc and for a 2.0l TDI is 2952cc (the orig cyl capacities are 1896cc and 1968cc respectively)

      Hoyhoy.

This thread is about VW Super Nats & here is their entry form >

Bottom of first page, no mention of diesel or not.
What me see is a multiplier of 1.7...
      Hooroo.

        Eddy,
if you have your 2012 CAMS manual, its on Page 48, "Classification of Automobiles", section 2.2 "supercharging" - for diesels.

No mention of diesels in the (NSW) supersprint vehicle regs, either http://www.supersprints.com.au/rules...rovisional.pdf

Looks like diesels don't exist in NSW That does it - I'm staying home.

I think its more of an oversight than a deliberate omission. I would be pretty surprised if someone decided particuarly that the concessions offered diesels in the CAMS manual would be overlooked for NSW supersprints.... seems highly unlikely. More likely they forgot to write it in since nobody really cares

Lucky you posted this otherwise I would have entered the wrong class. Looks like there have been some changes since last time I checked.

Just a quick question about apparel. It says on the first post that a race suit is recommended, I've never worn/ owned one but i've been to many trackdays where full head to toe clothing was acceptable. Is supersprint more strict on clothing? I usually go out with cotton jacket with a t-shirt underneath and jeans with runners

The key word is "recommended" - they also recommend roll cages, harnesses and window nets.

You'll be fine in your normal attire.

Ha, no need to be patronising.

When I first posted my question about how I should be calculating the displacement, I didn't yet have my L2S or CAMS manual.

Now I do have the CAMS manual, and I know how I should calculate the displacement, and have tried to inform others of the facts.

I assumed that people interested in this would have atleast tried to read enough of the literature so that they know a few basic terminologies that exist within said literature, such as the big one, where CAMS use the term supercharging to cover turbocharging (which is actually a modern shortening of the proper term turbo-supercharing) and supercharging (referring to a mechanically driven pump).

So yes, my turbo diesel Cabby is SUPERCHARGED (as far as CAMS care) and so is your Polo GTI.
