Julia & I drive all the way from Adelaide to support the day, but maily to catch up with friends, and have missed two days in the last 11 years.
I always have a problem with charging entrants ($20) to display their VWs , and then charging spectators $5 to view them. To me, that's double dipping!
I am fully aware of the costs & charges of running a car show, however the VWCV get a minimum of 50 more entrants than the VWCSA, charge $5 more per entrant than us (we charged $10 until this year, now $15 ), have more sponsors for the day, more members to pay fees AND then charge spectators to the view the display.

Hi Green T4, great to hear you are making the trek over again. The $20.00 is for entry into the Show and Shine only. Covers the show and shine entry and ground entry for the driver and passenger plus a nice show bag. This year we are offering early show and shine registration to alleviate the queing thru the gates. Register before the 9th Nov and get a free 2007 DotVW teeshirt worth $15.00 (thats what they will be sold for on the day)
So pretty good value really. Make sure you register early. You can register and pay on line.

Thanks, I usually leave things to the last minute, incase things go wrong. I am moving my 2 weeks holidays over one week, so we can take the Green T4 away for a week. Not sure the boss is happy with that.
Still have to book a night's accomodation, probably at Ashley Gdns, and prepay the awful Freeway toll to get quickly to the other side of Melb. Taking the Mk III Golf this year, as it is a quicker car to cover the Adel-Melb distance, and easier to clean up upon arrival in Melb.
