Where was everyone??? I was at the destination - Bayview Park - from 2:30 to 3:30 to meet up, and the only other VW I saw there was an old kombi with a canoe on the roof....

Right time wrong venue. Reminds me of when we agreed to meet at a certain BP. You guessed it people still went to a different servo. Now we use maps with paintshop dodgy arrows over the top

It was a good day, we were down at the end of Glebe point road near the water for a while. Then we went cruising ended up at bondi? (i think) and finally at Centennial Park. Got some goods shots, will post them soon

Did anyone besides Brenton and I see that smashed Mk2 cabrio? It looked like it got T-boned by this beema, was a real shame looked in good nick too.

There is no such thing as a Mk2 cabrio. Where was it, should have towed it away for parts.

Sorry about that peter, syncro checked out the destination and said it was far too busy, so we changed the plan and ended up at centennial park. You should have had my mobile number. If I`d had yours, i would have rung you. Next time.

Quite an eventful day for me.

I was up till 2.30 the nite before trying fuel systems on the Jetta. Couldn`t even get KJet to work, so ended up making up an adaptor plate and whacking on a Mk1 Carby. It wasn`t running too good, but at least it was there.

The Jetta blew a radiator hose 1km from the meeting place at maccers, so I had to jump in the VR6 and go without it.

                          The car park at macdonalds.

                          R32 Visitor

Then Steve turned up, fortunately with a spare radiator hose and helped do a roadside tuneup and hose change on the Jetta. Got it going and she was on the road again.

Then we went to Glebe point Road and parked down by the harbour in a long line, much to the amazement of passers by.

Syncro turned up in his TT

and then we went for a cruise up oxford st and down to bondi and clovelly.
                          Some speeding dubs.

Was great being in a pack of watercooled dubbers.
Double Parked at Clovelly until we got moved on. It was about 40 degrees at this point.

A quick trip to the bottlo and on to Centennial Park.

I climbed a tree for the high angle! I think it was the beer and the sun.

End of a great day. Thanks to everyone who came out.

I dont think this account does justice to the madness of the day with misdirection and chaos everywhere. Next time there will be maps.

                            Awesome

Great day guys! The sight of those watercooleds all together is enough to bring tears to an old man's eyes. Wish I could have been there! Beautiful Passat wagon too.......

Yeah Steve`s Passat is the badboy. It has a 1.9 motor in it too!

I think the final Rollcall was :

1975 2 Door Swallowtail, 1976 Passat, 1979 Mk1 4 Door, Three Mk2s and a Mk2 Jetta, Mk 3 VR6, Audi TT and an R32. There were also a few randoms who tagged along at different times and a lost Corrado! And several late withdrawls who did not have cars ready. You know who you are!

A good effort Guys, 4 Mk2s in one place in Oz is no mean feat and there would have been a 5th if channel 10 hadn`t dropped a camera on it!

I reckon we do it again in a couple of months with an even better turnout.
