  • QLD Lakeside Happy Laps - Sat 10/12/11 ($30)

Okay, let me know if you are coming or not.

$30 for lunch and 30 minutes around Lakeside (Pay on the day)
No clothing requirements as it is at at "road speeds" (110km/h max, up to 140km max on the main straight) however they are a bit lenient on this, within reason.
Anyone doing excessive speeds will be removed from the track.
    Passengers are welcome
It is reccomended that we arrive between 11am and 11:30 for a briefing before heading onto the track about 12-12:30

We need a minimum of 30 people (for lunch only, can have less driving) to make this work and it is pretty bloody cheap
Also shouldn't be any worse than regular driving since you won't be maxing your car out for sweet lap times.

    Lunch menu is as follows:
    Steak and salad BBQ buffet
    Selection of bread rolls
    Rump steak
    Chipolatas
    Sautéed Mushrooms
    Garlic potato bake
    Tossed Salad
    Coleslaw
    Cost per person $30

howdy, any idea of how many cars will be allowed on the track at any one time?

QR allow for passenger laps after the sprints, and they are meant to be low speed. Yhey are also quite relaxed with it and would be typical of driving the track at 80% pace (still more than you can drive on the street), which is much more comfortable for the passenger and also quite fun without ringing your car too hard.

Let me know about the car numbers, but I'll most likely come say hi.
Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
              Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

No limit to the number of cars you can have on track at any time however i don't expect we will have more than 20 or so.

Best bet is if we can get everoyne to bring their partner along to hit 30 people (15 cars)

Apparently the skyline club generally have 30-40 cars when they use it.

I would be up for this although 140 limit is a bit disappointing. Gotta be safe I guess

agreed but what more can you expect when you dont need any safety equipment, long shirts, pants, helmet, etc... cheap way to have some basic fun... on a track and not on a road...

I'm keen! Sounds like a good bit of fun. Keeping under that 140 down the straight will be hard though, the vr6 is only starting to get into the fun bit of the rev range in third there... Probably for the best though.
