After next weeks meeting the AGM will be held, which means the new Committee will be voted in next Wednesday NOT NOVEMBER.

We invite you to join our club and participate in driving events, social outings and meeting people with
similar interests.
General Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month (except January) at Morningside
RSL, 481 Wynnum Road, Morningside commencing at 7:30pm. There is off street parking.
Membership entitlement - 2 Club Stickers and Membership Card which on presentation will give you
discount parts and service at participating outlets (Queensland, Australia Only), CAMS affiliation for
motor racing purposes and a monthly magazine containing news and views.
The club also participates in Queensland Transport’s Special Interest Vehicle Registration Scheme,
however this is provided only to members of 12 months standing with the club or by special approval
from committee.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE
Full : $40.00 Pensioner/Student : $30.00 Associate : $5.00 per day
NOTE: Membership is for a period of 12 months, starting from the time your application is accepted.

The only way to have your say is to join, even if you can't make all the meetings

VWDC MEETING & AGM- Tomorrow Night, 12th Oct - IMPORTANT

Just a reminder that next week, Wednesday 12th October will be the Volkswagen Drivers Club of Qld's General Meeting for the month, with the 2011 AGM following on immediately afterwards.

Usual time and place - Morningside Services Club, Wynnum Road Morningside starting at 7:30 pm.

At the AGM the current management committee will step aside and a new committee will be formed to run the club for the next 12 months, so please come along and get involved in running YOUR club.

Management committee positions to be filled and a brief description of their duties are:

President - chairs all meetings of the club and leads the management committee, acts as the head of the club

Vice President - assists the president, fills in for them wherever necessary, acts as the main publicity contact for the club

Secretary - calls meetings of the club, keeps minutes of meetings, manages all correspondence and club documents, maintains the club membership register

Treasurer - manages financial affairs of the club (directed by the committee), prepares financial statements/reports for club meetings, maintains financial records to Incorporated Association requirements

There are also some Organizing Sub Committee positions to help run things smoothly:
Editor – prepares and publishes the club newsletter, and any other printed or advertising material needed by the club
Web Master – maintains the club’s website, and deals with contact that comes in through the website (e-mails etc.)
Social Secretary – organises the calendar of social activities for the club
Action Day Co-ordinator – the main person responsible for organising Action Day each year, however it is fully expected that they have a group of helpers throughout the year
Property Officer – stores, maintains and if needed/possible transports club property to and from events.
Fund Raising Officer – organises fund raising initiatives for the club... raffles, Bunnings BBQ’s, soft-drink sales at Action Day etc.
Dating Officer – the person authorised within the club for providing accurate dating of member’s car for purposes of the Special Interest Registration Scheme.

Nominations will be taken at the meeting, with elections to be by a show of hands.

So we have STIDUB as President, Ironman as Vice President and Maca as Secretary.

Hopefully we can see the club grow with our influence now to have a bit more driving and social stuff.

I would love to see the enthusiasm levels rise as there were only certain parts of the night to contain any...
