                  Friday

Well it was up early for some Weetbix and a lift to Cooper St BP. Carl (cdogg) picked me up in his OEM+ looking MkV and we headed to meet the others. Dylan is his black Bora, Stu and Jarred in the lipstick Vento, Matt is his Mk4 Golf, Ryan is the Polo. Matty (V666) had spent the previous night on the toilet with bits n pieces coing out the front and back. So a few quick texts and he decided he would drive up later when he had stopped doing poo.

Every road trip need s McDonalds stop some much needed caffeine, there was also a load of old Torana’s heading to the Nationals in Newcastle. Also plenty of cool rides heading to Performance Car manina, but no excel keen to race on the Hume. I must have scared them off in the CL last year.

I was riding with Dylan so was pretty stoked to have a steet of the Stance machine, listen to Triple J’s hottest 100 of all time and just take in life. Gundagai was our lunch stop and some of the guys topped up the sniff. Highlight of this stop was the “instant increase your street cred machine” and it only cost $2.

Seeing the smoke cloud on our way in to Canberra reminded me of my trip to Summernats 2 years ago. Smoke ‘em… I was driving Stu’s Vento now so switches were be hit for the b*tches. After some sweet talking to the accomidation I think Stu and Jarred worked out the accommodation cost and it was time to bounce on the beds. Hahahahhaha

A trip to see the crew at Belconnen VW centre was a must as they down for a good chat last year. Ryan rocked up in his Polo too. Checking out their rides sure is fun and the local “ute drivers” deliver the goods too… By this time Matt has managed to make his way up to Canberra and catch up with us. Off to the shops to check up on the jailb8, get some supplies, drop some expensive alcohol and drive up n down the wrong ramps.

On some of my previous trips to Canberra I had seen many “fast n furious” cars rolling into Mobil servo at Civic, so designated drunks and designated drivers were chosen and we cruised into to see some eye candy and so how us Mexicans roll. And that we did…

Some time in the night Chris, Pete and Dean arrived in the VR6 powered Audi 80.

                    Saturday

I need a wheel alignment, bahahahhaahhahahaah, whine etc. Guys Stu needs a wheel alignment. So Stu and Matt head off to annoy some wheel aligners and test their skills on making a slammed dub drive sorta straight. And see how good a Magan 380 is after a round about.

Cars driving straight, and bodies awake we now headed to the Russell carpark to meet the CBRVWOC boys and Canberra VW club people. Pretty stoked with all the cars sitting in there and then heading out on a lip scrapping, horn tooting exercise around Canberra’s coolest local roads. Cruise finished off at our favourite CVWC Belconnen for a BBQ and beers.

Crazy George arrives in his slammed Passat so its good that he has made it and downs a well deserved beer or 2. Dinners was at some pub out on the Barton hwy and I was pretty stoked with the feed I had and beers went down well. Fhyswhick carwash was sessioned, bogans washed cars, bikes were ridden, more drinking and lots of other non g-rated things happened. A few of us then headed out on the town for some interesting events…

                      Sunday

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why do I do this to myself, of course im the last up and hating life but we soilder on, have some breaky, organize the esky, get some macca’s and roll up the dodgiest entry ramp to a car show iv ever seen. Wow what nice grass you have, drip trays under and we are happy campers.

Sitting in the shade soaking up the sunshine is the highlift of the socal side of GAF. ACT, NSW and VIC crew all come together and for a laugh and talk shop. I was a true Mexican:

Trophies won, sunscreen missed, water drunk and motivation high we head with the Canberra crew for some food, rest and a bit of cruising. Off to Stromlo for some happy snaps and wind down of the days events. And probably one of the better photo shoots we’ve had… Ohhh and I saw one of my hero’s Jarred Rando out riding. Wahhhhhhhho!!!

Well we have a fair bit of beer to be drunk and its warm weather, so why not turn up the BBQ and burn some meat. Mullet on and cruised down to Weston Creek shops to grab some fine cuts and lolly water for the ladies.

Many things happened later that evening but you had to be there…

                        Monday

9am wake up I think is much more civilized after a night on the tins. So showers, pack cars and off for some exploding sauce breaky and a fuel up. Magic marker is out too…

Couldn’t have asked for a better day for a trip home, 25 degrees, tunes pumping, roads quiet and windows down living the dream. Pretty sure Jarred even liked it so much he took his clothes off but you will have to ask Stu about the details. Holbrok does some awesome wedges BTW.

Tyres are eating guards and drivers arms are becoming tanned as we arrived back on the suburbs borders and say our last good byes until next time. What an awesome trip.

Have to thanks Dylan for letting me ride with him, Stu for letting me hit switches in the Ventlo, Carl for the morning lift, Matt for booking accommodation, Jarred, Matt, Ryan, Peter, Chris, Dean and George for representing the Vic crew. All the Canberra VW people, clubs, businesses, Police etc.

Its an awesome community to be involved in so make sure you become part of it, we don’t bite, we don’t hurt but sometimes we smell and act funny.
