  • NSW Putty Road V2 - September 11th!!!!

For those few of us who went last Sunday to explore and want to do it again, here we go. And those who were too lazy , here we go. Wes(valtheval) and I ran the Wiseman's run and Ray (rayray086) ran the Ettamogah run and we met up just on Putty Road. The ferries and the roads up to them are awesome, takes about an hour and a half from Gosford to Putty Road. Wiseman's is 24/7 and Sackville is only closed 1st Wednesday 12:45pm-3pm, so we'll be fine. Let me point out, there is NO potholed sections on Putty really at all. The freeway is 10x worse. There is one section between Mangrove Mountain and the 1st ferry but it's nothing. Just patched crap surface.

WHAT DATE IS GOOD FOR YOU? POST UP

Meet at either Gosford Olympic Swimming Pool carpack if your a coasty/newcastle dubber. Or read below if your a Sydneysider.

Bring along your UHF handhelds and we'll use them to chat the whole way.

Meet @ 9:00am at Gosford., leave no later than 9:30am.

The whole day from Gosford is around 400km. Took us around 1.5 hours to get to Putty, 1.5 hours up Putty+ 30 min break at the halfway house or the cafe before if you so wish. And then an hour back to Gosford I'd say.

    FOR THE CENTRAL COASTERS:

Iguanas to F3 Sydney-Newcastle Fwy, Central Coast NSW - Google Maps

    FOR THE SYDNEY-SIDERS:

We'll meet in the carpark of Ettamogah Pub on Windsor Rd at Rouse Hill. It's on the left pretty much where Windsor Rd joins with Old Windsor Rd. It's a funny looking building, hard to miss. I'd say meet there 10:30, leave by 11 to meet on Putty just after 11.

Ettamogah Pub, Rouse Hill --> Putty Rd meet-up point --> Singleton --> F3

We'll then meet on Putty Rd on the side of first safest breakdown lane past Bull Ridge Rd (this spot is marked "B" in the above link), where the Central Coasters will jump onto Putty. We'll meet and greet and I think we'll decide when we'll make the next stop (I reckon at the Halfway House for a bit of a leg stretch but we'll see).

All due respect, if you guys are 100% sure you can make it, then by all means, put your name down. Otherwise, hold off the enthusiasm. Wes waited for an hour at Wallsend from 7:30am only for no-one to show and it was a similar situation for me at Ettamogah Pub.

Oh and Cameron, September 4th is the date for the dyno day at Revesby, so attendance for this one may be similar to yesterday's.

Ok, well any dates work for people? The weekend after possibly? Or even the one after? Even the 3rd maybe?

Agreed with the 100% thing, and if unsure, say you won't be coming before the night before haha!

no offence but this clashes with Fuzion's organised dyno day.. any chance of moving it to another weekend, oh and it's a father's day

Make it September 18th then? What does everyone reckon?

Has to be a weekend, weekday will be waaay too hard. Its about a 4-5 hour loop from Gosford. Awesome run though.

I think that 18th weekend Sept clashes with VW German Autofest Canberra

Sorry unavailable as booked accomodation Canberra already, but enjoy it as I loved Putty Rd last weekend just sorry more cars were not there, enjoy it & I am also going Australian Muscle Car Masters 4th Sept weekend to keep an eye on my " valtheval" interests, few showed last Sun but I found a classic 1 owner beetle a little old lady 1 owner so I enjoyed the weekend immensely
