Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC VIC Crew - Roadtrip to Canberra for German Auto Fest (16-19 Sept '11)

After the success of last years trip to GAF, I know there will be a fair few of you that are keen to head back up again. Figured now is probably a good time to start organising things, mainly accomodation. Figured I'd get the ball rolling atleast.

Dates: 16th Sept 2011. (Friday) till 19th Sept (Monday).

Our normal roadtrip config is roughly:
Leave friday morning, early. (no curries the night before!)
Saturday; be hung over, hang out with the locals, go to warm meuseum, wash cars etc
Sunday; show day: German Auto Fest.
Monday: hung over, explode a few sauce bottles, head home to Melbourne.

    Accomodation:
Last years accomodation was grouse, cheap, slept heaps, plenty of parking etc. Hopefully James can chime in with more details there. Was a bit further out of town, but that wasn't an issue. located in Curtin
Of course there are a few other hotels etc in Canberra, but then you'll be missing out on half the fun.

    Cars:
I know a few that should be pimping by then!

Better halves are more than welcome, although we all know this is a good chance to get away for the weekend!

Attendees: (mainly for accomodation at this stage, road trip list can be sorted later )
    Tim
    Bflat
    Josh - poloman
    Lorenz
    Dylan
    Woody
    Stu - Valver
    Stu, the
    cln
    Matt, Lisa V666
    Mal?
    Matt - MCiN7

OK, fire away. Who's interested? Who wants group accom? Who has some better ideas? etc.

P.s: this isn't limited to the VIC's only. Any other people that are interested in group accom for the event should also register thier interest here.

well it'd be a bit embarrassing if their asses were smaller than a Polo's

Hey guys... I thought I would give you a quick heads up. I have room for 3 bodies to crash at my place on the floor.

Also just around the corner (like 200m from my place) I have the hotel Aria... I looks pretty flash, but it's not too expensive.
There is also the Quality Hotel, Dcikson, and Yowani Country Club with decent priced accommodation close to me too.
