James (waterboys) old mans mk1 was tidy and a good bit of inspiration for me to get off my ass and put mine together.
Car of the show the r36 hpa tt , really well sorted car, nice to share some love with my stancer in crime Dom.

Great to catch up with the usuals and some new faces.
Remind me next year to enter through the top gate so as not to get stuck on the 3 massive speed humps. ( check the pic above of me stuck spinning the wheels )
Love the idea of peer judging just think it had a few flaws.

Spotted this in the carpark outside of the show. Damn winded me, how awesome is it?! Imagine if it had Christina's modern Alpil wheels on it. It's what I'd do.

          I want it.

          AP's monster.

Fit was so clean, it looks almost factory.

          What HID washers? Shaved!

          What rear reflectors?! Shaved!

My fave part of the entire build, love the vents, so well executed.

          On air.

          Split is where it's at.

          Got mould?

          This MKI tickled me.

          BWA GTI looking great.

                        Woody's report

                        Friday

Up at 6:30am on the road by 7am. Felt a liek a weekend away racing but thsi time off to Nationals. Dad avoids having a head on with some tard half a sleep on her way to work which gets us off to a good start. Macca's at 8am keeps alive n kicking.

Arrive in Gundagai for more fuel and ctah up with the other Melbourne crew.

Whilst loading the CD stacker Topgear greatest driving songs jams so therefore no more music (No ipod) and no love with radio reception.

As Dad was competing in the supersprint we pull off at Goulborn to stay the night at Wakefield. Wow what a hick town, if you have a VS with 20" chromes on the front, no springs in the back and cut muffler dumping at the diff with unit/jet pilot stickers you will go a long way. But the cool oldies drive a 2cv:

Headed out with some the ClubVW crew for a feed and some beers. And yesss I did help an old man find his false teeth!

                        Saturday

                        Super spint report here.
Dinner with Highlander in Bowral thanks mate!

Then meet up with Bima, Ray, Sarah, Stu and some other to get some happy snaps at Homebush.

BTW im no where near fully sick enough to hang out at Basshill Macc's on a Saturday night!

                          Sunday

Well after a good sleep it was up and off to the show. Ripped a few skids as I drove Dad's Mk1 in... hahahhahahah

                          Highlights of the show:
                          - AP's Mk5 R36tt
                          - Tubro 2.slow Mk4
                          - The amount of Mk2 Golfs
                          - Mal's sister!
                          - Meeting all the QLD crew again.
                          - Dom's Mk1
                          - The Mk2 G60 woooooooooow
                          - SA boys u the bomb.

Orange wheels nuts do it for me:

Thnaks for those who voted for Dad's Mk1 he was toked with the trophy and enjoyed talking to you all.

                          My car of the show:

                          Monday

On the road by 7am and on out way out of "fully sick" Basshill and heading for the Hume. This time JJJ is giving us some love so tunes are pumping off the tin top.

Had a wicked run home and pumped through the ran to get some in 10 hours with 4 stops.

Big thanks to all those who attended, came, saw, laughed and loved. ClubVW do a good job and lets keep supporting them.

And a break down of the cost (Much more expensive this year)
                          - $450 in fuel including racecar
                          - $170 supersprint entry
                          - $120 1 night 2 adults at Wakefield
                          - $150 2 nights 2 adults Basshill (this was actually really nice accomidation)
                          - $40 show entry
                          - $50 beer (1 slab & a six pack)
                          - $100 in food
Total: $1080 not cheap but was a wicked weekend to spend with the olman

Some sweet shots up so far

                            nice write up woody!

My nats trip started thursday night after work at 5, driving 3hrs to melbourne to pick up the GF and so we could travel up with the rest of the mexicans.
Friday morning drive from burwood to meet at Cooper street BP service station on the Hume Hwy in Epping at 6:30am.
Started the long trip with the 4 cars. After a quick toilet/maccas stop, we continued on until we though it was time for some planking on a missile *insert picture of extreme sport here*
Pulled off for lunch, only to spot a freshly detailed 4mo owned by Tricky Simon, caught up with junior and senior wood.
Cruised some more to find a polo that got some love from skippy... so that got some sticker bombing and Mitch's Nissan got converted to a VW.
The trip up dragged out to 12-13hrs after some average city traffic.
Saturday had a wonder around the opera house area, kicked back on the grass for some lunch with Tim Jess and Kirst and took in the opera house and bridge.
Cruised out to Doms house (thanks for organizing and hosting us) meet with the QLD crew for the first time, and some new NSW peeps.
Headed out to our accommodation in parramatta to find our next lot of accomation. semi car wash meet, caught up with mickey briefly and headed out to some tea with some other dubbers.
Sunday up early with Tim to wash the dubs, picked the girls up and headed to the show.
Was some very impressive cars at the show, didnt mind the venue under cover (I didnt get sun burnt for once). Great to catch up and meet new people. Thanks to all for the positive feedback on the car/wheels.
Had a nice tea with Tim, Jess and Kirst thanks to a suggestion from Pierre. Tried to nice photos of Tims jetta and the bora but our location was out of bounds . Caught up with Matt, Lisa and Niel at some pimping apparently in the cbd
up and on the road at 8am on monday to head back to melbourne, wasnt so long this time more like 9hrs which included 3 stops. crashed for the night, and drove back to bairnsdale today.

approximately 2500km and an average of 7lt per 100km

Overall had a great time and was well worth the drive! Next time we need to see more Mexicans heading north! Some of my very few pics
