And the year before that there was alot too. Plus had the Motorkhana. What happened to all the air cooled bugs in Perth? after the huge turn out too DOVW last year you would think they would be there too?

If anyone has some strings in within a council closer to the CBD maybe they can give them a pull in conjunction with the MB club, PCWA, BCI and VCWA and bring it in to Perth.

    Just my 2 cents anyway.

No I wasn't there the previous years. Sad to hear that though.

      • I quite enjoyed the day, especially the drive up there but I did think at the time that the attendance seemed quite a bit lower then last year. Very little in the way of aircoolers or mercedes. That said though, with so little going on in the vw scene atm I'm quite glad that something like german car day exists.

        • i think this years **** turnout was due more to the threat of terrible weather rather than lack of interest

          • Thanks for the comments guys. Cheers also to Luke (back door) for sorting out the Mundaring map. Even though I ended up catching up with you guys a bit further on @ the lakes, it's still a nice drive up there.

Agreed with what you guys are all saying too, definitely a smaller turnout than the last couple of years (although I missed 2009 cos I was in NZ snowboarding )

I know the day is run on the same day as the German F1 Grand Prix, but it's always crap weather. In fact, the weather was better this year than the last few years cos it wasn't actually raining, at all.

On a similar note, I believe 'Day of the Volkswagen' held in December is in need of a new venue this year so if anyone has a good idea for somewhere that can hold up to about 200 cars let me know & I'll pass it on.

Been lazy, haven't sorted out my photos yet. They didn't turn out that well anyway and I seemed to miss half the decent cars from the photos above anyway.

The guy in the black 996 GT3 was a d**k too, going off at anyone who so much as even breathed on his car...

                  I agree with this.
I know there would be alot of hurdles and planning, but for me, Northam is too far away.
I think: Yea I wouldn't mind going, but... Northam?

I appreciate that there's much planning and work into events like this, but I don't think Northam is very appealing.
Even moving it to Mundaring would be a huge plus.
Move it one week back and it's the same time as the Truffle Festival, which would be cool too.

                        • Ooohhh some great cars in those pics, wish we could have made it but only just got the cars through the test station. The drive there would have been a good chance to blow the cob webs away!!!! Anymore days or meets planned???? Would love to join in with my little fella.

                          • haha Sarah, geeting people in Perth together is a major logistics exercise with typically low turnouts.

Having said that, I'm sure if you were to suggest the idea, the turnout would be huge!!
