Got sent my promo code via email from VW, was a fun day! and well worth the $150 IMO.

Got to drive the Golf GTI, R and took the Polo GTI/ Golf GTI around the track, polo GTI is one mighty impressive car, I would buy it over the golf GTI anyday.

Not to fuel the golf R vs golf GTI debate but the R just kills the GTI in every way, GTI was fun and I guess if you don't want to spend as much purchase one but I am glad I purchased my R.

Yeah was a great afternoon and nice to catch up with DAL344 & Shakespeare. Got stuck with the GTD for most of the sessions but got to give the R a fang around for a few laps at the end. In car and driving footage was a nice touch.

Had an awesome day, great instructors and well organised event. Even with the rain it was great, actually more fun with the R's in the wet!!! and yes the GTD had it's limitations on a wet track, still fun though!

This VW Driving Experience course made me understand why the Golf R is often referred to as the GTI's older brother. I was one of those that had both the R and GTI in the group. Depends on what your definition of fun is, the R is flatter and has more control around quick and sharp corners which gives you the confidence to go even quicker plus a more responsive throttle and a bit more juice (debatable due to the extra weight). The GTI on the other hand, is a bit more unpredictable with understeer, body-roll and the rear stepping-out when pushed, that's when the EDL kicks-in. Some consider this as the fun part. Will not dwell on this anymore as it's been discussed and debated to death in the GTI v R section.
Just wanna say awesome day, learnt a lot of about the car's limits as well as my driving skills and the lack of it.

That 2nd left hander after the long right was a killer wasn't it, i had the R a bit sideways coming around there for the first time as there was no grip at all.
