I think we should go for something more "open" when it comes to the charity. Something for MS, or Heart Foundation, I dunno. I agree with Eddy and George about doing something for a kid's charity too.

Oh, and I would definitely be in. I really like the idea of a Charity Cruise! As for date, give it a lot of time, just so we can gather the hype and allow for plenty of planning time. It'll go a long way, especially if it involves the whole nation (well, big chunks of it anyway!).

Long weekends = double demerits. Silly time for a cruise IMO.

Good Idea for Charity though, I`ll come along.

Matt has a point double demerits, people are going to get stupid, and there is going to be trouble. Keep it to a Sunday or something like that, that isn't a long weekend!

Another idear i had was to approach some vw dealers and see if they r keen to donate towards are fund?
Might be a bit more work but might be worth a shot.

List for charity idea’s so far

            Men’s Health:
            Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

            Children’s:
            Make a whish
            Starlight

            Other:
            MS
            Heart Foundation
            Oxfam

What about being near Christmas something like the giving tree or the salvos?
Any more ill add them to the list.
Cheers guy for getting behind this.

              I'm up for anything.

By the way. The DOVW is the 25 November.

I reckon it might be pretty hard to get alot of the VIC people back together one or two weeks later after a big cruise/show.

              Or maybe not.

Haha, I wonder how many interstaters would be willing to go to the DOVW?

I travelled over last year for a saturday night cruise with the Victorians (was great too) but for us Tassie people its gonna cost us between 700-$900 return on the boat.
I am thinking a saturday arvo thing here and stopping somewhere with the northerers for the night.
                    Great idea PoloGTi.
Are there any other Taswegians ready to put their name down? Last weekend in November is sounding good.

                          I'm in!!!

                          Count me in for this!!!

As an organisation growing as quickly as we are it is important that we are mindful to contribute to our community.

And what better way than a massive, simultaneous annual cruise with an entry fee to be donated to the charity of our choice. Pretty sure most of you know what charity I would be voting for , however I reckon GPK_GTI is onto something with prostate cancer. We are (unfortunately for the ladies) a massively male-dominated forum, and it does make sense to take care of mens health issues...

Fantastic ideas guys. Makes you proud to be a VWW member!

                          Cheers

I organised a fundraising event last year for Movember - although for the charity dinner I hosted I had to colour it in with mascara (I'm quite fair) so people could see what the 6.5k I managed to raise was for!

I'm more than happy to organise the Vic brigade, and movember isn't just about the blokes. Mo-sisters are more than welcome to compete.
