Hope everyone is getting ready for this day.

We now have Prizes up for grabs for the “top gun” shootout & most improved driver:

1st prize $750 voucher for APR / Oettinger products at Harding Performance
2nd prize $500 voucher for APR / Oettinger products at Harding Performance
3rd prize $330 (max value) voucher from Safe Drive Training for a performance drive day.
4th prize “Physics in Motion” drift school merchandise pack.

Participants will be able to experience hot laps around Morgan Park in the Oettinger 257kw Golf GTI & the APR 190kw Polo GTI.

GTI Drive Day

Sunday 19 August

Venue:
Morgan Park Raceway (Warwick) and Warwick Dragstrip

Itinerary:
6:00 am Event breakfast at Flavour Cafe at Boonah
Full continental breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausages, toast, omelettes and 2 cups of gourmet coffee/tea per person (fixed price included in event fees)

7:10 am Convoy to Morgan Park Raceway

8:00 am Welcome and Introduction
Drivers Brief
APR representative speech

8:40 am Divide into 2 groups of up to 12 participants (24 attendees)
Training on Small Circuit laps with instructors in vehicle (one group on small front circuit, other group on small back circuit)

9:30 am Groups swap circuits

10:00 am Stay in 2 groups of up to 12 participants
Medium Circuit laps (Groups 1 & 2 run separately)

11:00 am Long Circuit laps (Groups 1 & 2 run separately)

12:10 pm Debrief

12:20 pm Gourmet lunch served

1:15 pm Move to Warwick dragstrip

1:30 pm Split into 2 groups for simultaneous activities
Group 1: 1/4 mile runs on the dragstrip (solo passes)
Group 2: Motorkhana events

2:45 pm Groups swap activities

4:00 pm Top Gun shootout (to find best driver)

5:00 pm Conclusion
Presentation of prizes to winning drivers

Wearing a race/motorcycle helmet is mandatory for the track and dragstrip sessions. (Helmets can be hired for additional $40)
Attendance fee would be $350 per person based on 24 participants
(Note this includes breakfast, lunch and refreshments)

hey Thomas,

nice pics - shame it was too wet for the afternoon activities - but it sure was interesting driving the HP cars on Semi slicks (can you say aquaplane?) - Hopefully will get all Stuarts photo's in the next day or so

I felt the aquaplane when I went in the Golf with Joel for the first laps.

That was an interesting experience, but over all a good day.
Push the car nice and hard, and will just have to wait for the next time so we can the do reset of the day.
