The B-52 is unlikely to come around again as they are slowly being withdrawn from service to be refurbished or scrapped (but dont quote me on that )

The 25+ year old f/a 18s have been put into reserve operations until the replacement f-35's arrive in 2015/2016 . In the meantime we have some 25 f/a18f superhornets that started to be delivered mid last year .

Rikard, of course you can come. As for Facebook, it's not a requirement to be on that "social network" to come to a VWW meet

And as per my first post:

Everyone is invited and everyone is welcome. At the end of the night, we will be either going for a drive or take some photos so it's not just a dinner!

If needed, I can provide my phone number in case anyone gets lost/don't know anyone. The problem with previous monthly meets is that most new people don't know who to look for, so if you have someone's number it'll make things a lot easier!

And yes it's this coming Friday people!

They should be flying the super hornets by now - practically nothing in common with the original F/A-18s.

I miss the F-111s already too.

Yes the Pigs will be missed . There are few aircraft that have the same long range strike capability of these aircraft .
It was the same with the retirement of the Caribou . 40+ years of service and there is no plane that has the same capabilities to replace it .
