You could always try staying around the Ivanhoe area(2 or so suburbs from preston) Near the venue however I'm probably the only one who lives around there haha.A nice area. Quest services apartments are very nice( from what I've seen) also right next to shops. But yeh.. Not so close to jarred and sydney boys who are staying eastern suburbs. =]

I`ll be there, probably do the night drive, not through the day. Not as hot, less traffic, fewer cops.
Driving long distance in convoy sucks as it takes too long. See you down there.

Hey fellas im keen to drive down,Matt what time you go at night. I prefer night time too. No traffic and heaps faster. I might just wing it and look for accom once there. Wat u guys think bout the accom idea recon it will b hard to find something

gringo_54_oval, book accommodation! Bima and I did the overnight drive and tried to look for a place to stay and found nothing, sweet **** all. We arrived in Melbourne at ~4am, tried all the motels/hotels/caravan parks we could find from North Melbourne all the way to the CBD. Ended up washing the car and bumming around 'til show time. Not comfortable at all
