Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW Oktoberfest Luddenham - Sunday 03/10/09 - Static Display

    Hi All,
I just wanted to let you know that I'm organising the annual show-up of Dubs at the Oktoberfest again this year which is held at the Hubertus Country Club on the Sunday of the October long weekend. (205 Adams Rd Luddenham).

Gates open at about 10:00. Keep an eye out for a VW Parking sign to the premium parking. We will be positioned at the same location in front of the club on the concrete overlooking the "lake". Watch out for the VW parking signs and also the Club VW banner.

The Judging will be done while the bands are playing between 1 and 2pm, I'll try to make an announcement If all goes well, the judging will be done by the Hubertus Country Club President Eddie and the trophies were also sponsored by the Hubertus Country Club. If you can't find me in the club, please grab my phone number from the sign in the window of the Grey Golf GT and give me a call.

Entry into the event itself is $5 per adult (not charged by us) and for those who want to stay the weekend, there is plenty of room to set up a camper (or tent) with power and toilet facilities if you want to get into the German beer early. (They have local as well).

This event is getting bigger every year and now with the Fairfield Oktoberfest not happening, this should prove to be huge! It's been a great family atmosphere with even more rides than last year for the kids (BIG and small) including Dodgems.

Click HERE for a google map of the place and how to get there.

Of you can try THIS map if it's easier.

Are you saying that 'fairfield not happening' as in there will no longer be NSW nationals??

The Oktoberfest in Fairfield will not be on this year.... The nationals are Definitely on in Fairfield next year. 2011 VW NATIONALS INFORMATION. I'll change my previous post to avoid any further confusion, thanks for asking and letting me know that it was vaguely worded...

The festival is on all weekend, but the display is only Sunday, so if you're coming on Sunday, yes you're welcome to use it

I'm off now to the Oktoberfest so I won't be able to reply to any other messages posted here until after the event.

Very local for me. Took advantage of my lack of driving to drink all weekend.
Quite heavy rain, so the Mrs drove us in her Audi instead of the rocco. Parked in the middle, just say you are with Club vee dub and park with the dubs and they wave you through.
Ate untold pork and 3 steins of beer!
Saw the German slap dancing and had a dance with my wife.
The kids ran amuk and played in the rain.
The AUDI got best watercooled from a panel of biased German old men
We were glad of the 4WD getting out of the muddy field and I then got driven home for a nap.
A good time was had by all.
Open Monday as well if you fancy a good day out.

Man it was terrible weather but i made it for about an hour or so, think i left as you arrived Matt, saw the ouudii parked on the way out. didn't bring the mkII as my wife wont travel in it in the rain :p schnitzel was good, beer was awesome! muddy field was a nightmare, was sliding sideways at 5kph and it wasn't even that steep!

Seemed like everyone was having a good time regardless of the, the way it should be!
