Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        • A few photos from a Victorian Anzac Day GTG.

The shots were taken in the Yarra Ranges, near Kinglake, and at Toolangi. It was a great day.

Yes, quietly grazing in the field. They are quite docile, but don't get too close.....they growl, and can be known to bite.

                    • Nice shot's. Looked like a very cruisey & enjoyable day.

                      Great turnout too!

I don't mean sound rude, but why doesn't anything from the MK5 GTI forum's cruises get passed on to us? We are after all, all involved in the watercooled scene.

Are you like the elite & no one else is invited?

It was a great day. Starting at Albert Park, then to Mill Park via Citylink and the Northern Ring Road.....Whittlesea.....Kinglake......Toolangi (I would recommend the Toolangi Tavern for lunch, great place).....Healesville.....Woori Yallock.....Gembrook......Belgrave, then Wellington Road, home.

Please don't be offended, but, as a Golfmk5.com. forum, GTG's are for Mk5 Golfs only, and not just GTI's, R32's etc. We had a schmick looking GT Sport TDI in Graphite Blue at the GTG. Also a Sportline with some really nice looking wheels. It's not meant to be elitist or anything like that, it's just that, as a Golf Mk5 forum, that's the way we feel it should be.

Maybe at some point there could be a joint VWwatercooled forum - Golfmk5 forum GTG some day.

                        Cheers

                          • I dont see a problem with each group having their own events. But yeah. With your 20 regulars and our 20 regulars we could have MEGA cruise!

Anyways. I dont think this is the thread to raise the issue. im sure it will be addressed in the future

I actually posted a thread on this forum some months ago about a GTG we had going to Bendigo. One of your Moderators wiped it because he said it was too "model specific" for the want of a better description.

                              Cheers

I'm not offended & I can understand this, but then also I can't.

Most of the one make/model cruise's I've been on, or invited to (& I've been on heaps of cruises) still do have other tag along's. Just not invited in the pic's & normally hang out the back.

But if that's how the forums operates, then so be it.

                              • Some very nice pics there and looks like it was a decent turnout of some lovely looking MK5s

Few pics from a recent ECCA cruise that ended up being just a few of us watercooled boys. Fun relaxed day in the end i thought!
