VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

What a top day you fellas had. Its great to see a lot of friendships developed by these forum cruises and yes, absolute top marks go to Shaneth and John. Difficult circumstances and I am sure Jasmin would have been proud of you all on the day.
Makes our local scene look very low down here. (which it is these days)
Go the Qlders and NSWers!
Cheers, Andrew
It was a good day fellows - great job in organising!
it will always be hard to keep everyone together.
i remember seeing the bonnet up on a MKii or iii at some stage & one - I had no where to pull up, and then as I tried to pull over, the 5 cars behind me all tried to do the same. I then realised I had no idea where we had to go so I thought it best to catch up with the cars in front. Didn't help that I didnt have a radio either!
John, Shane... just fantastic. I had such a good time, i didnt even know things like this happened before i joined this forum, and i had no idea it would be that awesome. You guys did an excellent job organising the event and i extend many, many thanks to you for it. Was the first time i'd had a real chance to the stretch the legs on my VR6 for more than a couple of minutes at a time, and i was very impressed with its performance, and the cars around me. My fuel consumption was insane though, average 9.2 L/ 100 kms, over 380 kms. Only got to the halfway mark of my full tank as i arrived home. How did this happen when i spent most of the time in 2nd and 3rd gear?! And why can't i use this little fuel the rest of the time. Anyway, thankyou again to john and shane, this was an excellent ode to jasmin's memory, anyone would be proud to have 25 VWs honouring them.
Cheers, Rudiger

Oh of course it does Eddy. There are lots of things I can safely say I'll NEVER do. I am certain that I will never walk down the middle of the highway holding your hand singing tip-toe through the tulips. See, I told you the word exists!

Careful Doc ... you never know what might excite Eddy.
hey guys great cruise felt alittle out of place against all the new VWs but still was made welcome i was expecting more mk1s and was shocked not to see a mk4, the mk1 didnt have any issues all day and was itching!!! to go faster there was no issues with pace of the cruise was one of the best organised cruises ive been on period in every way and ive been on plenty. was very well planned and the next cruise should be done the same.
It only took me to search 5 pages to find a pic of my mk1 and what a pic can you please send me a high res version without a blanked number plate leave the rest looks hot
That's a sweet photo of your Mk1 revnit! Wallpaper material Would be awesome too if the red GTI trim remained red in the pic.
Don't let some of the talk in here bother you shaneth, from what I'm reading in here, you and Golfer did a fantastic job organising everything. The forums are still young and we've only been through a handful of cruises altogether, so I can only imagine better, more refined things to come in the future.

That is a sweet pic, revnit...your punctuation sucks, but your mk1 rocks, wide stance, fast and very very clean. Good Job!
Hey everyone great cruise. Been on all three SEQ runs to date and all have been great and can only get better with learnings from the others. Great to learn more about my own car and as well as other cars and drivers. Followed Guy H for a time so has a good mentor to aspire to. Saw lots of smiles on faces even if at times it was in the mirror from someone behind me wanting me to go faster. I think I need to attend one of Guy's DriveGTi training sessions to learn how to appreciate my car more. Hey Dr Spine shame you and your dad didn't get to the fish and chip spot next to the river. I threatened to see if he could swim after his comment of "Cars are only for getting from a to b" - sacriledge. All in fun though as is the context we should keep both the cruise and the forum. Keep up the good work. I was buggered by the time I got back to Brisbane to pick my missus up. I even let her drive back to Toowoomba. Shame me sitting in the drivers seat of the GTI when sober. Thanks John and Shane.

I think I was behind you from the start to tamborine (is your one with the euro plate?).. I don't mind driving behind slower cars as they'll stop me from going too fast n:
