SEQ Drive Day #3 (In Memory of Jasmin) - Pics and Comments
Wow, massive turnout guys. VW's are officially not a rare car now i'm seeing this. Had a few hassles with the mk2 of recent but should be running well soon. Who else showed in a red mk2? And on a side note, hello to the candy white polo driver who flashed me today over oxley way
Well done fellas, congrats on a fantastic turnout and a bidding farewell to Jasmin as I am sure that John and the rest of her family would have approved.
Great to see so many VW's out there and about. Even better to see that there are so many vr6's out there I thought we were rare
Never the less, a great day and I'm sure many friendships will be started from this.
This also gives a kick in the dumb for all other states to do the same thing as well!!!
Even more photos! Great shots, love the rolling shots. I think we need someone to make a new VWWatercooled banner for the forums!
KI11Z - did you fit on a mono-wiper?
Just a dodgy to see what kind of reception it got? cant descide if its too rice or jus adds to the euroness of it?? didnt many opinions n comments though so cant have looked tooo bad?! still dont know if i'll keep it??
As a fellow mk2 owner I am dying of curiosity here... from the few pics it was in it looked like a beautiful example. love the multispoke wheels on the mk2
the only reason why me and golf me up caught up to any of you guys ie: dave and jayson was because of the crash.
i do have to say next time we are on a crusie is someone has a problem the last car who has a walkie talkie should stop and check everything is ok.
twice i stopped and not one person stop to check if i was alright with the car, the group just kept driving. on the second leg golfme_up's brakes were smoking so i pulled him ova and we waited about 7 mins for them to cool down, then when we got to the bottom of the hill everyone was gone, and from this we made a wrong turn and had to do a big loop, during the hole day i used a whole tank of gas
and then when we got to the second leg stop at the bridge no cars were there so we tried to call the numbers on the paperwork but to no answers, so we just kept going untill we came across the red mk2 in someones yard and then we had a 3 cars cruise to the fish and chip shop
Would have been nice to see another MKII there to break up the sea of MKV golf's and Polo's.
Have to admit that I unfortunately felt a little "un-welcome" at this event, this might have been partly because we were left behind after I suffered some brake trouble.
What ever happened to the guy at the back of the pack, keeping an Eye on things?
Thanks to one member for being the nice guy he is and stopping for me!
We then both got lost and had to find our way back to the pack. Luckily bumped into DOHCDave and G60Jay just after Natural Arch,
Shout out to Golfer though for doing his best at organising what has to be the biggest meet so far.!
Even if I did get the feeling that the owners of "older" cars were not welcomed as much as owners of newer models, it was a fun day, it was worth the wait for those fish and Chips and getting together to support Golfers loss.
I realise next time to bring my mums MK5 and a walkie talkie, lol
Great work fellas once again yet Sydney still holds the biggest GTG January 07 35 cars
The Maroon blood that flows through my Queenslander veins senses a challenge in those words. The next get together will be bigger we hope. It is no mean feat to get that many cars together for a long drive like we had. Round trip for me was about 400klm from home and back. I'm sure that with a shorter round trip and a slightly later start (for all the sleepy heads) we'll get bigger numbers next time.
