Though i'd love to to a spot of fishing a have a few beers.
But all the rest, not to sure as i'd be driving there for a weekend of vwwatercooled madness. That is if there will be a few staying the weekend. Mabe if a few share a large van it'll keep the cost of the weekend a down. Because 5 hrs drive is 10+hrs fuel, don't mind at all just that might be good to say, get some more solid numbers soon. As booking a van ect. will need a little time to sort out.
Obviously this would only suit say someone like me, (leaving the wife and boy at home) A van to myself how boring and wasteful.
say Alex, Andrew, myself....That's one van full
Cheaper to.
OR : Leave really early in the morning, around 4-4:30am- that gets us there by 9-9:30.
And leave by 4-5 in the arvo get us home around 10pm.
gives us 8hrs to talk vw.w have lunch and half a dozen beers, enjoy a great day then group cruise home.
trust my car, though longer drives tend to spook me a little. Would be easier on the mind i'm sure, for us that come down in the older cars.
Prob jumping the gun a little, but time seems to be going faster and faster of late.
Valla is also good for anyone with wives, children etc, as there is plenty for them to do. It's a social event as well as show and swap meet. There is usually a few watercooleds come down from Queensland as well.
Keep it to the one leave it at SAWTELL and start getting a show of hands I will try to take off some extra days of work ie the Friday and Monday but I'm in limbo at the moment.
That's correct. I'm just worried about people being disapointed with Sawtell and then not going to Valla expecting it to be the same. Valla is very professional.
Im inclined to do what dohcdave said, drive up really early in the morning, fish, drive back at night. If there are enough peeps, i might even stay a night.
We'll see, but im definately interested pending uni work.
I'll be doing a 1 dayer as it is a fairly short drive for me & I usually travel with the ridgebackx, so accomadation can be a bit tricky.
If there are only 20 odd cars at Valla, we could turn up in good numbers & have more watercooled cars there than air.
That would be something different & maybe the start of something new in the way of regular watercooled events in Australia
