Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Weekly Bris meetup

Hey guys and girls was just thinking of maybe organising some sort of weekly/fortnightly get together say something boring and daggy like bowling or pool for us Brissy people. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I know noone esp me wouldnt be able to make it each week but different people at different times would allow everyone to get to know each other socially

After the meet, and when things cool down with Uni, I'd probably be up for it. Maybe once a fortnight. I'd be happy to catch up for a drink or whatever.

    Cheers
    Steve

      Idea from Shaneth

An idea from Shaneth was even a fortnightly get together at a carlovers etc. Cause if we got to wash our prides and joys may as well have pple to chat to while we do it

      Thanks Shaneth

I'd be up for that. Good excuse to keep the car clean. Once a fortnight sounds about right for me.

Dude, I haven't washed my car in 3 years. I mean literally no washing or cleaning of any description. I 'blame' the water restrictions - as in "damn water restrictions, can't wash my car". When really, I just can't be assed. The most amazing thing though is that it still looks clean, no joke. It's a bright metallic blue and it just looks so shiny. So thats even less of an incentive to wash it. So fortnightly washes for me would be sort of obsessive-compulsive.

But anyway, I'm planning on treating the GTI with a little more respect . Hence my willingness to wash it fortnightly! Hey, while I'm being really generous I might even whip out that wax and polish thats been gathering dust in my cupboard.

What's the deal with washing your car at one of these places anyway? You can't use hoses or anything can you? And if not, how do you rinse the suds off etc. Can you tell I have no experience at this? lol

There are high pressure hoses to use etc. The only thing they dont like u doing is bringing a bucket along but i still take a hand sponge cause i try not to use there brushes
