Black Spur alone is not a super drive, due to aforementioned traffic and Govt cash collections. Suggested route - Eastern Suburbs, Emerald, Cockatoo, Gembrook, Warburton, Reefton, Marysville, Lilydale, Eastern Suburbs. That's a well beaten path but never boring. Just have to watch out for...

shall we follow what was suggested earlier? this route: Princes Hwy to Maroondah Hwy - Google Maps
MEET UP PLACE (as attached.. the open carpark)
Forecast for Sunday -Partly cloudy. Patches of light morning frost. Isolated showers. Light winds.
    830-9am meet up

can i pass the leading to anyone? i am not sure how to lead a pack of cars. haha

    at the moment.... list below...
    melbv - 100%
    big yellow - 100%
    buckets - 99%
    manol - 100%
    hanMKV - 100%
MkVi (fren of han) - 100%
    imtrbo - 100%
    JarekGTIMK5 - 100% (from watercooled vw)
mister_duck - 80% (in watercooled vw... need to confirm him)
JTW - 99% (lets go for your 1st melb GTG!)
    wk118 - 100% (former TimT ride)
pauld - 90% (from watercooled vw)

Will be super slippery out there if this weather keeps up so I dont think challenging the law should be too much of a problem. Enjoy the cruise boys. Im going to be elbow deep in my new toy

i'll come along! you guys will be much faster naturally, and my brakes are going to be what lets me down, but if there's room [and patience for a slow diesel!], i'll tag along!

                              don't worry...all are welcome...
it's a cruise and not a race. so, there will always be room.
I'll see you guys in the morning but won't be going on the cruise.....

guys, i will put pics up later when i've sorted out the photobucket, but for the mean time...

thank you so much for that! seriously, the roads were safe, really really really nice [a bit greasy in some parts, but not dodgy at all], we had SOME traffic, but for a long weekend's sunday i reckon we got off SOOOOO lucky with just how much we were able to stretch our cars' legs.

thanks to rvan.lim for organising it, and to james [manol] for consolidating the route and for taking the lead

thanks to all who attended and made my day really, REALLY awesome. it was an absolute pleasure to meet every one of you. this was only my second GTG cruise and i never presumed that just because we all like VW's, we'd all automatically get on like a house on fire, but having a yarn with everyone was fun, laughs were had, everyone's personalities meshed really well and for all you know we could have been a bunch of mates just meeting up for lunch.

i had a really great time when it was james, jarek, and imturbo in front of me, giving it a good brap, and i have to be completely honest and say that i was ****ing proud of the little polo diesel. my brakes are rooted now, lol [slow demise anyway], but in all honesty, i have never been more in love with/ proud of my little oiler, than i am right now.

i'll post pics soon, but once again, thanks to all who made this day such an awesome day for me, i really, really really appreciate it. it was an absolute pleasure.

                                in summation:
