QLD Brisbane Meetup - Potential

Hey All,

Noticed from the other threads that there are quite a few Pog GTI owners on here from brisbane...

Was sitting round on the holiday today reading the forums and thought "we should have a meet and greet"

So i propose a couple of Tuesdays nights from now to meet at riverside, have a chat and maybe go for a little spin...??

[B]Place:[\B] Riverside (just through West End - see below)
[B]Purpose:[\B] Meet some other VW members (Especially other Polo GTi Members )

From here maybe grab a bite to eat / drink / hit up Nebo lol... At this stage more of a meet and greet. Could also discuss the possibility of a sunday cruise through the brisbane valley to the sunshine coast - always some good roads up there...

You're doing night drives in the mountains? Watch out for the wild boars on Nebo/Glorious.

Wild boars hey, I have been doing nite runs up nebo and glorius for the last 7 years and never seen wild life on the road. Guess ive been lucky.

I've known a few people who hit things, kangaroos, boars and a few other things. Closest I've come is a bird during the day and an owl to the helmet at night.

Incidentally I've been doing the mountain for about 7 years too. First thing I looked up when I moved here was where the good roads were.

Probably 60% of that time on the motorbike.

Edit: I've also seen cars/motorcycles (not with me) have big accidents or plunge off the edge, head on accidents etc. Came up there once a few years ago to find a Porsche 911 clip a wall coming the other direction ripping all it's wheels off as it tumbled down the road. Luckily he was ok, but the car was destroyed.

It's not the kind of place I'd want to drive fast at night, not to mention potentially pissing the locals off.

I was up nebo the other night and did see a wallaby... nothing too much... Not to sure where we will end up yet - see what everyone feels like on the night

I'll be there for the meet & greet (to put faces & cars to VWW handles) but unfortunately will not be making the drive (raging toothache - can't see the dentist 'til the 18th).

Talked you into joining, huh? Good to see. Welcome to the forum ... now you REALLY should come on the SE Queensland drive on June 3rd (another beautiful, white 3-door Golf GTI).
