Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What should be expected from a stock GTI DSG? I have heard around 130 KW @ wheels.....
Good thing I have a service on Friday before the dyno run too

      I reckon less, around 120-125kW @ wheels.

ive seen anywhere from 125 through to low 140s on a stock GTI. Not all cars & dynos are created equal.
The very early model MKVs had less power than the later ones as well.

True about different Dyno's giving verry different readings and thats good to know that the later GTI's made more power.

Guys, many apologies but I wont be able to make this one. I've got to help a mate get his car back on the road in time for a national meet (non-VW) so Saturday is gone I think. If I finish earlier, I'll try and make it to see how you all did.

A shame as I was hoping to get my Pulsar GTiR on the dyno to see what AFR's were like.

Cool, does that mean gr33nbastad is gonna run with his APR?

I was hoping to have mine chipped by saturday, but havent had a chance to take the car in yet so be good to get a proper stock vs stage 1 done on the same day..

                    My spots up for grabs

Regrettably I will have to withdraw from the dyno event on Saturday. After driving home last night there are some awfully gnarly sounds coming from my cylinder head and I don think they will be getting any better, so... my spot is up for grabs. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Well my spot could be up for grabs to as i have had the new custom Zorst put on and have lost 7 kw but picked up a whole lot of torque since changing from the standard zorst, but the car runs out of steam around 3500rpm and feels like there is no boost to keep the car going,,,sent data logs to APR in Brisbane as the dyno was showing it was running lean around 12.7 to 12.5 then falls from 115klm to 11.0 it follows the same graph the week before with the standard zorst but you can see it runs a full point richer through the dyno run, but have been told by APR that you cant trust the AFR on a dyno run....

Recieved word back today from James at HP in Brisbane that they sent the data to the States and they have come back and have said that there is no problems with the tune....Yeah right then explain the power lose and the power falling away while giving it a boot full, so if they aren't going to re-tune the car i am not going to run it its pointless......

                              Cheers Chris
