NSW Sydney GTG 18 April 2010

For those that are interested, I am organising a GTG through golfmkv.com for 18 April here in Sydney.

As the last few have been on a Saturday down South this one is being organised for Sunday the 18th on the North Shore to open it up to those that work Saturdays and haven't been able to make it.

So the planned route can be viewed here, I'm yet to drive it an confirm all the roads are in good nick, but I will be later in Feb.

I was the only Mk6 at the last GTG, so hopefully we can get a few more to the next one.

So let me know if you're interested and I'll put you down on the list.

Hi Nath, this might be a dumb question but u looking only for later models to come along?? i might be interested, i've got a Mk2 GTI, living around Hornsby might join u guys possibly around Galston Gorge if im free.

I'd be interested, but would probably leave you guys at Richmond, otherwise I'd be looking at a 300-400km round trip.

Maybe the drive is a little ambitious for fitting into a cruise?

No all models all Golfs, for that matter if any other Dubbers are out there that dont drive Golfs it'd be a good mix-up for something different

Yeah possibly a bit much but the GTGs are usually a whole day around 0830 - 1600 or there abouts, and this looks like 330kms or there abouts so the distance is about right. I think unlike the southern ones this route has many more exit points for those who need to get home, I have to drive it myself in the first week of March so I'll see how I go with timing etc. May cut it short on the day at Richmond, or divert off Bells Line of Rd down Darling Caus in lieu of the whole sprint out to Lithgow, that should shave around 50km or an hourish of the drive.

see how i go .. but not sure if i can be bothered doing that whole distance either..

you'll hit a lot of traffic through some of that route honestly.. been through most of that route a couple times over last few months on random drives..

its like macq pass, everyone "loves" that drive but its absolutely useless on a weekend unless its before 9am!
