That would have been some ride home from Melb in 35plus degrees.

Thanks to all the Vic crew for their hospitality this weekend.

                Wow!

                My S.E.D.F

                Saturday

Friday night I was still Mk3 less (In many pieces)

Saturday morning off to work to quickly sort out a few things. Back home borrowed Mum's Mk3 to get round to Jarred's house for some Mk1 love. Lets just say we scrapped the sump on a cat's eye.

Once work was complete off to pick up our favourite man Mitchy B (V-tec and ambulance man) all ill say is thank the Mk1 gods that Jarred's brake upgrade worked or things would have been different (And no I didnt spill my bevan).

Olmate Tim's for lunch with the gansters Colin, Josh, Gavin, Lorenz then some of the GolfMkv crew for some car wash and sun burn

Whubbsie rocks up for the spring install: Rears are easy Damn those fronts. Chap laps with Josh and Mitchy (Get some........)

                Saturday night/ Sunday Morning mission

I get home about 12 and off to sleep. Notice the front lights on (WTF) go to turn it off and holly flamin' fanta flavour coke drops there is a big box

That big box had the bits to finish my Mk3 So off to work I get, cable ties, chair leg plugs and all manour of obscence things at 3:30am my car is looking like a Vento fronted Mk3 Golf. (My drunk neighbour held the bonnet whilst i did up teh screws, thanks Dan) Good luck finding a car wash at that hour that works.

Anyways off to bed for some much needed rest

                Sunday

Got up before sparrow's fart to finish off assecorising my POS. Roof bars, load rack, esky, suit cases, ghetto blaster, bead seat covers (I sweat Taxi drivers must be shipping these back to the home land, flammin' hard to find) mexican rug.

Had some toast and time to drive to the meet point. Go to start my car: nothing, Dad has already left as he is towing the Mk1 to the show, after some sneeky roll start work all good.... Fully braappppt to the meet point

Enjoyed the cruise in... Had a ball at the show meeting new people from the forum and general public. Exchanging ideas and feedback whilst talking with our mates.

Few highlights of the day were: Trip to macca's with Josh and co, telling people about my mission the night before, looking at some sexy Audi's, being Voretx with Ray and Lorenz...

Awards was sweet and the number plates was a great surprise!

Some o.g gansters stayed back after the show and chilled under tree, many funny stories were told and laughs had. I was lucky enough to go for a fang in pepperwhite's Mk1 WOW

                Sunday evening

Our favourite chef Lawny offered his residents for some after show wind down and BBQ. After a trip to Greensborough Safeway which is very easy on the eyes we loaded up with rabbit food, meat and Cherry ripes

A trip for some beven's was need so Ray through me the keys to the SH73OX. With Lorenz and pepperwhite on baord we left, holly ****, smoke was plumming from the left rear guard, with some sneeky passanger kamasutra we made it in the lowest Mk3 in oz to and from the bottle-o in fine. Lorenz and pepperwhite that treu o.g ganster Mk3 stuff right there.

Food was eaten and beer was drunk whilst many more stories and days events were relived...

                Thanks

Dom for such a wicked show.
Dom's close family for putting up and helping with Dom's VW infection.
All the awsome sponsors helping support the show.
Tim for feeding us on Saturday
My drubk neighbour Dan (He didnt even know my "loud silver car was made by Volkswagen" there ya go...
Jarred and Josh for driving me round.
Lawny for hosting us Sunday night.
And all teh people who supported the show.

I dont care what people say Volkswagen is not just a car company but a way of life...

                Cheers James

p.s Ray i sone true o.g ganster for driving that Mk3, you sir are my idol!

                    • Fantastic weekend, so ****ing epic.

I arrived at Melbourne on the day of the show, and with 2 hours sleep I was extremely tired, but arriving at the show and seeing the cars roll in (especially the convoy that met up) pretty much fueled me for the rest of the day. Massive props and thanks goes to Dom for getting the show rolling. Without your initiative, we'd all still be dreaming for this to happen in Australia.

It was awesome seeing familiar faces again, and one can never tire from the antics the Melbourne crew get up to. Seeing new faces was equally great, though I didn't really went out that much to say hello to everyone.

Big thanks to lawny (geez, I never got to know your first name!) for your hospitality and taking some of us back to yours for a relaxing BBQ 'til the sun went down.

There were many highlights for me throughout the day, antics and cars combined (no particular order):
                      • Going through Mag Wheel Centre's stand - finding out the BBS RS-GT wheels in 19x9's or whatever (it was WIDE) were heavier than my 17x8's and were $2000+, EACH!
                      • Loon's Scirocco (flying in and flying out! The green looked so good! Congrats on getting the "Other" plate haha)
                      • Dom's perseverance and dedication during the show (never an idle moment)
                      • Alex's A3 on OZ Futuras (epic dish, epic stretch) and the Super RS spare
                      • Dom's Modenas on those tyres
                      • Brent's ITB-ed 16V and the clean-as engine bay
                      • The Vento front (miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine)
                      • Tim's Bora (smoked Hellas and debadged rear made for a nice ass, congrats on the plate!)
                      • The Rat/WTF plates, and seeing Jarred and Stu take them (I SO wanted one, damn you guys! Congrats )
                      • The cream Mk1 on widened steelies that came at the end of the show (I didn't get your names, but **** it looked sick!)
                      • Spyda's Mk1 - you know you're low when you have to use a smaller lip! Congrats on the plate and pimp cup!
                      • The "Rat pack" heading out of the park and into Safeway before going to Lawny's - awesome sight, and my SH73OX didn't look out of place!
                      • Lorenz handing me my six-pack and remnants of my tyre on a stick - HAHA you guys are wayyy too heavy!
                      • James' rippin' it everywhere

Got home alright, power steering has squealed for ages now but still works. One of the Cossies (the one with the NSW Euro plates in the pictures Tim took) flew by on the way home, that was pretty much the only exciting thing that happened over 16 hours of driving. Pics will come in soon, but at the moment I am bloody tired, sunburnt (got a hectic V-neck outline) and still suffering from the heatstroke from yesterday, so don't hold your breath!

Edit: ****, you always write up the funniest recounts James!

                        • Im too tired to give huge comments right now LOL.

A really big thanks to Dom, his family, Brittani & Kat for the door/entry help and everybody else who helped and also attended. Its quite sad to admit that the Sydney people aren't as keen and organised as the mexicans!

We had an awesome weekend down again as per usual and was good to meet everyone who i havent previously and also see rides i havent seen prior as well!

Will upload pics sometime tonight or tomorrow!

Big thanks again Dom, you should be proud dude! Was awesome day!

We left about 1030 this morning and got back about 6.30 tonight .. pretty good run. Passed Loon on the way as well parked on th eside of the road (a kip? lol)

Haha I was the kid who came over and asked for a look in the under the bonnet, then stood there in disbelief at what you were saying. Awesome car.

I didn't manage to make it for the cruise unfortunately. Turned up about 1 30, and I think some cars had left by the stage. Those that remained were still pretty mind blowing, honourable mentions include:

-the mint red cabrio, had a quick word with the owner seemed like a nice bloke
                                -the outrageously low white mk3
-the turbo 8v as mentioned above
-the white mk1 on wide RS's, thing was absolutely mint
                                -the 20V scirocco
