haha, very funny, you nearly didnt have me.my dip stick guider exploded yesterday and lucky I found a vw parts open and in stock(bloody useless buggers, thread coming soon) .
there is also a brand new mk5 r32 coming....
well,,,, what can i say???? hmmmmmmm ,,, if we were welcomed like the way we(ok only 3 of us) were welcomed today at the nats,I dont think we would be even considering a next year nats.First of all it was $15 entry to get into the pub carpark.then apart from the basic hello at the gate ,I didnt get one hello from anyone else(ok spoke to dave birchall from club veedub).
If you guys saw the raffle and awards im sure there would have been riots!!! it looked like 4 ppl bought most of the raffle tickets because 4-6 people won all of the 15 or so prizes.those people just happened to be all mates or associated with all of the flatfour crew.
Door prize of 4 people away for 2 days in some resort was won by another of their mates.
Major prize was won by the head guy?? im not sure but he was the one doing all the announcing and he was the founding member of the club.his small son got the only kids award for his vw scooter and then his kid son gave the kids award for fav car from the kids ! .peoples choice was won by another of their mates.
would I go again,,um no ,would I recommend anyone from here going,no I wouldnt. If it was free, well it might have made the day a little more appetising, but paying $15 each for prizes which seemed like it was all setup.no thanks.
im not trying to start any arguements ,just pointing out how we felt and what we saw.
sorry static.
here are the photos

Reason: spelling mistakes
for starters all money goes to charity, the venue is used for free because the club is good mates with the pub owner and all the prizes are donated from various businesses, so no its a not a setup in the past years nearly $1000 has been donated each year.
As for friendly? did you go up and say hello to people george? because i know if you started talking about vw's you would have got a conversation going with just about anyone member there.

I did a guest appearance too, on our way back from down the coast. Mine was the SEAT with mud up to the roof
Couldnt find the entrance so the Mrs lifted the Police tape and we drove in. Entrance price via that route was fair I thought
Our cars were looked at like spaceships, I think lots of people even walked past the SEAT, unaware of the VW heritage.
Had a couple of good chats with Statics Dad, at least he managed to turn up and a couple of other folk and managed almost a whole beer with George before the Mrs dragged me away.
Nice venue and Berry is a nice town. Glaad I left before the prizes. I reckon we could organize a watercooled cruise to a nice pub pretty easily.
