No doubt you would have copped heaps though. Those bloody Toyotas! Most annoying drivers ever!

Glad you had a great trip chaps.
Flip side also glad to not be there with references to 160 to 80kph driving, late night drinking and next day driving, plus ref to 2 licences lost.
Sound like it was a good thing I couldnt come!

It wasnt all that bad mate.
The lost licences were on the Hume hwy and the recorded speeds were dubious at best. But it doesnt take a high speed to lose your licence on the hume especially if youre overtaking someone.
The drinking whilst we have talked it up a bit was really just social. Maybe not everyones cup of tea I guess but its not like we were all rolling around drunk or anything.. Its only Ben that cant hold his drink. We didnt hit the road the following days until after lunch so everyone was perfectly sober.
For the most part speed limits were well adhered to because there are plenty of police out there.Last edited by Tim; 18-01-2010, 05:48 PM.

And yes, the speed limits were pretty much adhered to at all times, there were PLENTY of police out there, I got a nice surprise right near the summit of Mt Hotham when I turned a corner and there was a cop there in a lovely lime green VE SS, booking or checking someone's licence.
The drinking, went probably to the latest time of around 3:30. And we never left the accomodation before 12pm anyway, so everyone was well rested, fed and most importantly sober before any driving happened. Everyone also respected everyone's different driving abilities at all time.
Bazzle, if you would like to be mortified by antisocial behavior I suggest you go onto streetcommodores or a Ford forum etc and see what they get up to on their 'cruises'.
We were all responsible and had a good time. Hope you can make it next time.

Anyone who drives a Holden or Ford are all part of the bogan/hoon fan club.
I really think you should wake up to yourself with comments like this.
There are bugger all cruises I've been on where its been smooth sailing & everyone has done the right thing for the entire length of the cruise & I incl. just about every VWW cruise I've been on!
I'll admit, I've been guilty of having alittle bit of extra fun on some cruises but reading about how much worse the V8's boys are is getting alittle bit tired now.
I've also heard a couple of stories now about what some of the people on this weekend cruise got up to as well & some of it is nothing to be proud of!
I recently went on a cruise which was dominated by some seriously powered V8's & not one of them put a foot out of line the entire time, nor did the cops hassle anyone of them either.
Just one more thing. You may all look down upon the Holden & Ford (& most of you look down on anything that isn't VW!) cruises as all being idiots etc. but just something more to add, the Commodore community have an Australia wide annual cruise for charity which normally rack's in $150+K.
Not bad for a bunch of so called "bogan's" I reckon. Let's see the VW community come up with even a fraction of that!
