Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Pretty keen for this again
How come its not at Wigley Reserve again this year?
How come they aren't judging a modified group?
And well done to Dan for getting his car as the background

There is a high level of major events in the Glenelg area. There was no guarantee that we could have lost our booking at a later time when it was too late to find another venue. The Council was very happy to have us there, but....

There are insuffient numbers of modified watercooled VWs to warrant separate classes. However, if /when we get those numbers, things will change. Remember we are up to Generation 6 in the watercooled already. In reality, the judging criteria doesn't really discriminate againt either standard or modified.

I am working on a "Watercooled car of the Day" trophy, even if I have to pay for it myself.

You need to alter the date in your graphic from 21.03.09 to 21.03.10 maybe.

I think I do. Congratulations, the first to pick it (I did it deliberately to see who was paying attention).

Brilliant, another event in Adelaide. Volksfest was great. We even managed to take first and second place in class (new gen car older than ten yrs) with the GTD and VR6, though seein the pic above we have little chance at this event! That Golf looks fantastic! Any meets or cruses between now and then?

Had a great time last year - infact I'm pictured next to Gavs SEAT & my Audi

However this is more about cleaning than modding tbh. Yes I'll sponsor the "lowest watercooled Dub" if you want that category

i almost choked on a pizza shape just then as i scrolled down and noticed that it was my car in the flyer haha

ill definitley be there again, was a good day out and there was some really nice cars which had big $$$ spent on them... credit to the owners really... also hoping the weather holds out again, this years event was perfect...

bit of a shame that its not down at glenelg again, i noticed that alot of the foot traffic was the general public who stopped in for a look whilst on their way to the beach/lunch/shopping etc... some good exposure for the VW community...

anyways, i shall see you all down there!

                        cheers, dan
