Ok people, I think a VWW Christmas Party is in order for this year

Also, i'd like to encourage new users and users that haven't met the crew to come along. Promise we won't bite

Barefoot bowls, drinks and dinner.

Location: Indooroopilly Bowls Club - Cnr Clarence Rd & Allwood St, Indooroopilly 4068.

Cost: $10 for 2 hours of bowls + drinks & food
Date/Time: Sunday 6th December, 4.00pm

Let's throw in some ideas for location and dates. I'm not really familiar with places that are good for sit down type events so I'll let the more "mature" people decide on that. Even a BBQ in a park or something then head somewhere for drinks would be good..

our Mazda MPS forum is having a xmas party at Salts bar @ Kingscliffe on 6th December...

You guys are welcome to attend if you like.

Footy and cricket session in the big park as well.

And yeah a Sunday's a good idea, a quiet park would also be good. The one up near the Toowong Bus Depot springs to mind (also near the RE ) but I'm sure there're more around..

Are we talking Brisbane meetup, or Goldy too, maybe easier to just do Brisbane ppl, easier to organise, etc..

I'm all booked up until I go on holidays now. No more events for me until February. Bugger to miss things but I think 5 and a bit weeks in Europe makes up for it.

A mate is now duty manager at Indooroopilly bowls club and also a VWW member and dual-golf owner, the place is all brand new as of only a few weeks if even, sure, I'm not 95yrs old, but it's a nice spot. well priced bar (do I have to say more...), good food, functions etc etc, proper nice set up, close to Indro station too.

Just putting it out there. I reckon make it at least 2 weeks before Christmas because lots of people will be heading away.

Also if you are keen you can play bare foot bowls. If anyones keen I'll have a chat and see if I can tee up any discounts or the function room or something, it falls under club licencing so prices at the bar are solid anyway.

That's my $0.02 anyway.

As long as there's food I'm easy. I've done bowls before, it's not so bad.

A blowls club lunch, and sunday afternoon beers sounds like a winner to me!
