  • QLD QLD GTI Driver training day

We are helping organise a GTI / R32 new owners drive skill day similar to what we ran last year. QLD is first off the line this year, let us know your thoughts on preferences.

We have started work on the new 2007 drive days - QLD is first, we have over 75 drivers on the books for invites.

We have some options, need feedback for the QLD event.

1: Morgan Park - Warwick 1.5 hours away - excellent race circuit and manouvering area. Can organise a weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)

2: QLD Raceway - 45 minutes away - excellent race circuit and manouvering area. Weekdays only - no Monday to Friday

3: Mount Cotton Driver Training Centre - No actual race circuit, road circuit, skid pan, drift circuit. Available weekends / week days. 30 mins.

4: Armidale driver training centre, excellent fast circuit & manouvering areas, approx 4 hours from Brisbane, 6 hours from Canberra & Sydney - could run a weekend event, starting Saturday Mid day, finishing Sunday mid day - accomodation in Armidale can be organised.

All times calculated from Brisbane CBD

QLD'ers, let us know what you think

We are working on NSW next - Eastern creek is impossible for the full circuit on weekends for 2007, but Oran park will be first choice, Wakefield 2nd.

I'd be keen on any of the options except for Armidale.

I'm keen on whichever track will help me to discover more about my GTI and how I can drive it better.

Any rough estimates on how far away this event will be? More than a couple of months or sooner?

          Hoyhoy.
This could be fun, even at my age.
With some notice, even a weekend at Armidale could be the go, but I'm easy.
P.S.No1 I think weekend would be more preferable for most.
P.S.No2 Just a question on option No2, it says Weekdays only - no Monday to Friday.

I think that it was supposed to be QLD Raceway weekends only?

I agree with Eddy, it needs to be a weekend to suit the majority who hold down jobs.

              Sorry,

QLD raceway weekends are fully booked for 07' already

So it would be a weekday there.

Part of the attraction for the events are to be on a full, proper race circuit - otherwise its more the driver training type facilities.

Weekends would suit a lot more people - agreed !

                Hi Guy,

Option 1 or 2 would work for me (I'd be willing to have a day off to do this during the week).

                What's the approximate cost?

Can Jetta's come, got to give that new APR tune you did earlier in the week a run!?!

                Cheers,
                Tom

                      Keen

Options 1 or 2 would suit me best but will take on any. Weekends as well but for something like this I might be able to arrange a sudden bout of the flu

I'm in like flyn. (or is it Flinn?)

Weekend on full race track would be best. They have proper run off areas hehe!!
Let me know when its on, will be there with bells on

This seems to be limited to owners of "newer" vws, am I correct?

Would love to take my MKII out to see how it mixes up with the newer models.

                              older cars invited?

I just wanted to find out if all ages of GTi are invited or if this was a more "newer" models event?

Im keen to see what my 91 golf GTi can do on a track.

If not then I say we run an open event later on in the year for all models.
