VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

Looks like you all had a great time & even better weather to for the day!
Nice pics people & nice variety of cars too!
No mk1's?
Nice to see Alex's old mk2 still getting around & in awesome condition too!
I love how in WA you can have a heap of letters & numbers on your Number plates.
When I was in Kalgoorlie I seen a Land Cruiser with the rego "MIKE TYSON"! Couldn't believe it!
It was a good day, i think everyone had fun.
Personalised plates are awesome here, on a poly-carbonate ones you can have up to 9 letters or numbers. $455. Normal metal ones can fit up to7 and they are around $230-240
Sadly I couldn't make the event, but having looked at the pictures of the event it looks like it was very well-attended. I saw quite a few VWs heading down Canning Hwy towards Applecross later in the afternoon, maybe some of them had been to WA DubDay?
Good stuff guys, I had a great time although being hung over, underslept and standing in the sun all day ! Nice to meet some more water pumpers as always.
I got some photos although I was restricted to 5 shots since I forgot my memory card : \ I will post em tonight.
Upset on the pre 97 win, Corrado I thought for certain..
I saw the judge take a cursory look at my interior through the window, but I suppose they may also be cautious about opening doors in case of setting off alarm systems etc. I'm not sure either how they might score an engine bay on the judging sheet as only a few people had their bonnets open. Maybe the engine bay score was only used for that specific category (albeit aircooled-only)?
Frankenstrat, a few of us did go down to Freo after, we left the show just after 3 so chances are you would have seen plenty of the show vehicles go past if it was around that time!
Just got around to editing/uploading my snaps.
Strangely I didn't bother getting the camera out at the actual venue - maybe it was too dusty or I was in a trance over the hotdog stand, I don't know
Things that stood out for me:
I love MK2 GTIs.
The Corrado is mental.
WGN Werks (polo_spec_d) looks, sounds and goes great for a dirty, slammed oiler.

I can't recall the precise time, Geoff, it would probably have been around that time, but I think we may have only caught the tail end if there was a convoy of VWs heading over Canning Bridge.
Were there any split rear screen Beetles on show on the day? I'd think they would be pretty rare these days.
