Hey fellas,

Well my thought was to meet at Leederville for a morning coffee and then cruise over in convoy to the venue. Gates open at 9am but I reckon if we're there by 10am as a group that should be ok. I'll check with the organisers if we should 'reserve' some space for the vwwatercoolers since the new location is about half the size!

Let's say we meet at the carpark at the end of Oxford Street around 9 or a bit before, then we can grab a coffee & some pics before heading over.

Any other ideas?

Well actually I'm not sure if you can have poke and tuck simultaneously after thinking about it...haha! It's do to with how the wheels sit under the guards and width etc. Have a and you'll probably find some examples - it's a big Dub thing in the States I believe

May I suggest that the VR6 be added to the eligibility list of the performance category? It is the grandaddy of em all really

I've still got bits on their way for this. Time is running short. Could be interesting to see how Green Lightning looks on dec 6th!

Thanks MattyT - It's always good to get feedback. Thanks. Give us more to help us improve next year. It's dam difficult to categorise the classes. Initially back in 1982, we started off with 2 - aircooled and watercooled and then we expanded from there. The judges are independant non VW car people, so when you fill in your form, it's up to you to nominate a class. That said we would expect a VR6 to be in the performance category. We look forward to seeing the convoy arrive, but please be patient and have your pens ready to fill in the entry forms clearly and dont forget your emails so we can send you the results.

Just make sure that the judges know a bit about VWs. There was an instance when we were somewhere in the hills, i dont remember the place (im sure Geoff will remember ) where the judge was a Renault person and knew nothing about VWs

Yea I reckon having non VW people 'judge' the cars is all bad.

I go to a lot of effort keeping genuine interior bits in my car ( as do many others) and it sucks when someone who knows no different marks a car down just coz they might not like the look of it.

I also have some suggestions for watercooled catergories. some day soon there will be enough vehicles to expand the criterea, but for now it would be good to have something along these lines:

* Best watercooled up to 1983 (Golf, Jetta, Scirocco, Passat, Polo)
* Best watercooled 1984-1997 (Golf, Scirocco/Corrado, Jetta/Vento, Passat, Polo, etc)
* Best watercooled 1998 on
* Best watercooled coupe (Scirocco, Corrado) ???numbers???
* Best watercooled van
* Best Factory Performance watercooled (GT, GTI, VR6, G60, 16valve, R32, R36) - all years.
* Best Modified Watrecooled (engine, interior, or body) - all years
* Most original watercooled up to 1991
* Best VAG Affiliate (Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, NSU, etc)

Obviously they would depend on numbers of valid cars.
