QLD Brisbane Photo Shoot

Ok after seeing the Melbourne shots on FB and the successful planning of the upcoming Sydney one.. It's made me want to do one up here.

Any ideas of locations, times and dates?

Somewhere central to both Goldy and Brisbane people would be good (unless if there is a really good place somewhere and people don't mind driving up or down) with a good steakhouse nearby for afterwards

cabage tree point has some good spots with cane fields etc.. even some of the industrial areas around yatala...

Good idea, Tim. We could plan this for our next monthly meet (hopefully my car will be done by then ).

Industrial areas are good but at night (depending on what sort of area it is) it can get quite populated with trucks and vans and other potentially VW-scratching cars lol..

Good to see some interest. I'd love to officially plan this but as i've mentioned; I have no idea of any good locations for this!

Sounds good to me, I live at Cabbage Tree Point...short drive for me then

It is important to remember that Cane season has started now so there will be alot! of trucks on the road and crap all over the place...not as much cane left either. It could still be worth a shot though.

I'm in for wherever though; I have a camera and tripod and would love to try some night shots.

Potential locations:
there's a vacant shopping centre carpark at springwood, near the blockbuster and retravision (100m walk to the steakhouse and pub too). It's well lit and never used so can chill with minimal hassle.

Down behind the bulimba hockey fields backing onto the water. Long exposures give a nice horizon line and can probably get the gateway bridge in the background. There's a few places around the gateway bridge, also the industrial area where the courier mail is.

Victoria point on sunrise or perhaps sunset depending on clouds in the sky.

Wellington point is also awesome around sunrise..

The old Brisbane Airport would be good too... Not sure if days or night shots there would be good but it'd be nice to get the old terminal building in the backround. But BAC security could become an issue..

yeah mate, i know both those places but as you said, security would be an issues at the airport and also the shipping port which is why i didn't suggest em, doh. Wellington point, cleveland and victoria point are best at sunrise, just watch out for women in lycra walking there dogs

The same ones that drive their Cayenne's to the Boardwalk for their excercise haha

Actually, Trafalgfar Street at Manly is good during the day (but really busy)..
