  • 06' DOTVW 26 November Cruise

Ok people, I know it's a fair way off, but someone had to start it.......

    Quoted from the VWCV site

    26
    Nov

    Day of the Volkswagen
VWCV proudly presents the 2006 'Day of the Volkswagen'. Show and shine, trade displays, swap meet... fun for all the family view flyer

Venue: Cranbourne Racecource, Sth Gippsland Hwy Cranbourne
Time: Gates open 9.00am. Swap site holders and Trade stand entry only from 8.00am
Note: Show and Shine car entries close 11.00am SHARP
To make our gate entry quicker and easier for show cars, we are offering a discounted pre-paid method of entering the DOTVW. The discount charge will be $10 per car (driver and passenger only). Show car entries on the day will be $15 per car. DOVW Discount Entry.
    end quote.

So if entry for show and shine cars starts at 9am. Could be an early morning for a lot of us who are planning on entering a car.
I'm not sure what everyone else would like to do, but I think to arrive before 10am would be ideal. Estimating it to take about 45mins to an hour to leisurely cruise from say Albert Park to Cranbourne.
I'm suggesting a leave Melbourne time around 8-8:30am?? That way there'll be no chance of arriving early given the time the gates open.

Not sure if people would be up for a cruise at all, maybe something else could be planned. Like a MASS trip to a car wash on the Saturday afternoon/evening??? I know there's a pretty decent sized carwash in my part of town (Corroit creek road altona/williamstown) and if it was a nice night a trip to the beach could also be in order. Anyway am getting ahead of myself.

Flood gates are open for suggestions. Bring them on!

I've got my fingers crossed for good weather like we've had the last 2 years in a row.

Was also thinking of getting some forum stickers made up for the show.
ie. approx ten inch buy 1 1/2 inch "www.vwwatercooled.org.au"
And ofcourse just print out some flyers.

We have 2 members who have vinyl cutters. How about they generate some stickers for this event? If not, we will have to outsource it to a business and get them done. Our forum kitty is empty at the moment but maybe we could get some help from some of the people who sell things on here????

I haven't seen the finalised sticker design. Did I miss something? Come on guys, lets chip in and make them happen. Count me in, just say the amount. If we all put some money in it will be cheaper.

Sounds like it should be good, does anyone have any other suggestions for a cruise the night before(somewhere central)? as I know I can get pigheaded when no one else offers a suggestion ha ha.

I'm up for anything. But I don't want to be out too late the night before as I've got heaps of traveling to do.
Don't want it to be like last year & leave Shepperton at 3am have 1.5 hours sleep on the side of the road & arrive at DOVW around 10am.

Progress is very slow in my camp at the moment, so I don't exactly know what car I will take yet. Hopefully I'll have the GTI out to paint in the next 2 weeks for some touch up's.

I think we should all put a little pressure on Golf Loon...He's in charge of logos and stickers. Yeah... They won't cost much if we do them in bulk.

                              Sticker designs

                              On a different note.
Not sure what people have come up with for themselves but here is what I would like as a sticker design.
Using Arial rounded MT Bold Italic.
