  • QLD The 'NEW' next Brisbane Cruise!

So right now I'm thinking a nice cruisy cruise. Head down the motorway, we can all get some nice rolling shots, and let the deseil guys really brag about their economy.

So, my idea is head down to Byron Bay and be the first people in ALL OF MAINLAND AUSTRALIA!!! to see the sunrise!
Plan would be meet at Yatala BP, just head down the highway, then have another meet further down the coast to both regroup, and meet up with the goldy people. Then down at the lighthouse at byron there is a top carpark. Previous cruises down there we have pre-booked the carpark (as you have to pay) so we don't have to walk for ages. If people want to walk, then I won't bother to book it.

Then food wise, head to the Byron Bakery. Nothing is better than THE freshest bakery food you will ever have. I mean, 100% super fresh cream on a chocolate eclaire at like 7am mmmmmm, followed by an egg and bacon pie...

Then way back people can do what they like, some very nice roads could be taken for the ones that are still awake. Or head down the beach.

So yeah, thats the plan. Last weekend in Febuary is about the earliest for me. But people, suggest dates. Need to lock in a date before we can lock in times, as I'll need to check the sunrise times.

From Yatala, it would be about a 90min drive if that at that time of the day, all sitting just under the speed limit.

Woah this is going to be an early one by the sounds of it. Any idea what kind of time we're talking about here?
We'll have to make sure this one is on a Saturday or long weekend though as doing this on Sunday when we have to work the next day is just silly.
Sounds like a good little trip though.
      Cheers,

How is a Sunday morning silly? Just go to bed early :-p.

But for instance the 28th of Feb (which is a Saturday) is 5.37am sunrise our time. So yeah, its early. Good tho. Its also the reason to take the highway down, then let others do what they want on the way back.

And yeah the lighthouse. Then walk down the end. Its the most easterly point in all of Aust.

I have done this cruise before with some guys from AE86DC, it was a good one, great to drive a nice few roads, nothing too stressfull driving wise and we should be able to keep in a pack once we are past burleigh.

It does get a little weird hanging out with a bunch of guys watching the sunrise though, so I might bring my girlfriend with this time so it's a little more hetrosexual.

You must be a 'morning person', Dave. Personally ... don't do 'em any more (bad enough getting my car over to Jimmy's by 7:30 AM on a Saturday).

Thats probably a better idea!! You could always stay over night at one of the campsites or something if you want to see the sunrise.

I need the kms, plus i am still to get on a drive with you boys so i would be keen.

I coach basketball and we train sunday mornings, so that always rules me our of sunday cruises. Saturday suits me better
