Oh yes, we WILL be doing that again. Kyle was pretty consistant with his times. I will be challenging for a rematch

Ah crap, I saw the camera & hit the brakes just as it flashed...figured it was you, me or one of those two in the left lane. I was trying to keep up to get a photo of you guys!!! Lucky I hadn't tried to fang it past

Sorting though some wikid photos now, big thanks to young Neil (Grant's son) for taking heaps of photos for us. Over 200 on mine!

We neeeeed to go again. I didnt know you could do most of the track flat out. I was lifting off and using the brake for turn 1 and the hairpin

Just keep the boot in Matty! Take a nice wide arc from the outer edge of the track to turn in, hit the apex and unwind it right out to the edge again so the tyres dont scrub off your speed and you keep your momentum. Momentum is everything in a kart!
You can hear the engine(s) bog down too when you are'nt carrying enough speed. That'll kill your lap times dude.

Kyle said he only lifted for a second at the top hairpin to break the back away and pitch it in to the apex. Then he floored it again immediately to drift it toward the apex and out. That apparently also lines the kart up into the next left hander which gets you a better run onto the back straight. He never touched the brake pedal!!

I'll be trying this next time. My best time was only 0.01 sec slower than his and i was braking at the top

Hmm I always brake going into the hairpin, but that's the only place unless there's someone in front of me elsewhere and I have to. Maybe I should back off a bit more before going in to the hairpin so I don't take off so much speed braking there. I did notice the engines bog down but hadn't really thought about it.

I don't normally brake on the first corner either but maybe I should have backed off a bit with someone that close to me.................splat. Oops.

I take it you've done a bit of karting before Wade, since you were all kitted out with the pro-racer suit etc Competition stuff? I've been wanting to get into karts for ages, but it's all $$.

Pics soon, couldn't be bothered sorting them yesterday zzzzzzz
