Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Morning all
I have booked the dates for next year now and are as follows
Some of these are closer together than I would like and we might struggle for numbers to cover the cost. So I will need to change the cost if this is the case. Member pricing will be as follows- if event gets 25 cars $40 driver and $15 passengers and if event gets under 25 cars $45 drivers and $15 passengers.
Cheer Paul

Thanks Paul for a great morning and a special thanks for letting my new rear wheel drive car out with the gang. So relieved nothing unexpected happened. Definitely a different drive to the S3. Looking forward to next year.
Only issue was paying the money to have my front bumper and mirrors clear wrapped and that aggressive Mustang driver didn’t show up in the end. Mind you, I am sure everyone enjoyed not having him throwing up stones and having to hear smooth fm blasting through the track.previously known as vwgolfer

Thank you Paul for all the tedious management involved in putting together these "Happy Lap" events over several years.
They appear unique to QLD & we are very fortunate for your organisational skills. On Das Social Events other States lament their lack of outings.
I cannot let the previous provocative post go without comment. That polite Mustang driver pulled out after the previous rude alleged car damage insult by Godspeed. "Well may he say God-speed the BMW, for nothing will save the BMW now".The Mustang will return in 2020
with OFFROAD Tyres on those 20"TSW Rims so Godspeed may need to extend that expensive plastic protection to include all his car & his pristine facial features............(all in jest for anyone outside regulars on the forum)
Thanks Again, PaulLast edited by flying doc roc; 10-12-2019, 09:03 AM.

something different
Hi Paul,
My son and I both enjoyed the morning at Lakeside, thanks for arranging it. Although I did get told to slow down a few times.
I was wondering as the happy laps are kind of like a roll race (with a cap of 120kph), would it be possible to arrange a meeting for the forum at QLD raceway for roll racing? Would be a bit more interesting/competitive and compared to a drag race, take away the advantage of awd, unless it rained.
Thanks again

Sorry can safely say that a majority of the VW crew are not a fan of this style event. There are plenty of other events that offer this like the Downshift happy laps. You may consider doing some of their events if this is the style you want.
Cheers
Paul
