Is the DOVW at Cranbourne? How far is it from the city?

It's not too far ray. 40mins perhaps from my area. Heading out from the city.

won't be an issue if you're staying at someones house though.

cranbourne is urban fringe territory. Not overly close to the city at all. Unless youre wanting to spend some time in the City i dont think staying there would be a great idea

But yeah, im in the same boat as mentioned. Ill try my best but at worst case ill be there just in some work car viewing only!

sydney to melbourne for the car show Day Of the VolksWagen (DOVW). its on the 16th of november. YOU IN!?!?!?!

Few things we need to sort out;

Travel Plan.
Accommodation.

It would be a leave Friday come back Monday deal I imagine, that's what the Vic guys did for the nats. A few guys have said they have exams on that friday morning, at what time and for how long? it's a 10 hour or so trip so we don't want to leave it to late or we will be driving all night.

It's a long trip and it looks like we may have a fair few people making the trip, we don't want people getting lost, arrested or having a run in with some local Mexicans south of the border. Might need some sort of buddy system or just the simple always make sure you can see the car behind you, that way no one gets lost.

Any Formula1 motels down in Melbourne near the event? Some people have offered a spare room for people but the majority will need a place to crash.

Good idea Matt, most likely I will have my other half with me, and so therefore I will need to get a Hotel or something like that and I still want to get a secure carpark as I know I will be paranoid

formula1's dont have very good car park, it all comes down to how much of a tight ass everyone is to spend on accommodation! (of course theres budget understandably).

problem is everybody is uncertain of time(s) they are leaving + if they are TRULY going or not. its all good to say yeah yeah im going but thow many out of the bunch of people will GO infact.

i will def be there, however i dont know if i leave on thurs night or friday itself.

theres a few places can stay down there i can recommend but its depends how much ppl wanna spend. i have my place sorted where we're staying already.

Very true Pierre I'm hoping to leave Thursday but it might look like Friday, however i do want the car to be secure lol.

as ray and i said we wont know our exam timetables till about 3 weeks out but i'm definitely there one way or the other. ill probably stay with jarred or josh though.
