Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Another point to add is that unless you intend to do a mighty awesome mother of all burnouts, don't drive through the water or whatever it is they spray down. Unless you're going to use it to warm your tyres up what's the point in getthing them wet and cooling them down.

Run your own race as you're there to see what you can do and not what the bloke in the ported and tubbed twin turbo, 900kg Mazda RX3 can do (the answer to this is faster than you).

Useful information can also be fun.

I was wondering what a good tyre pressure would be for the 1/4 run.
In the dyno runs the GTI has done after 5500rpm HP starts to go down so normally change around then anyway.

I'll definately try to make it, but I'll have to be there early, if anyone else is going early (16:30ish).

I've got prior arrangments for that evening but would love to tear down the strip on the way.

        Cheers

Question for the drags do they allow in car camera mounts to be fitted?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before at willowbank.

                Hoyhoy.
Jason & others, me has decided to give this one a miss because I just found out that this particular Saturday there is a Power Cruise at Qld Raceway & when its over there will be a lot of them hitting Willow Bank.
Coming from someone that went last year said that we will be lucky to even get a second run, so me is not going.
                Hooroo.

It might be a good idea because if you at paying $36 + fuel driving down there and you only get 1 or if luck 2 run not really worth it.

I think it should be postpone till the next one which will be on a Saturday. Just my 2c

                          Hoyhoy.
The Saturday after there seems to be an extra event as well called Street Series, don't know what difference it makes.
The two Sat's afterwards seem to be straight Test & Tune.

I have a car camera mount. I'll bring her with and she can sit in the back seat...

So where exactly is this Mobil we're meet at at 4???

(Google Map would be helpful, but I'll settle for road name and nearest intersection)
