Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I inspected the car last time it was on eBay good from a distance...

Gutters have rust, rust under the rear quarter windows and.. The most recent spray job was done whilst the car was intact, bad masking !!

      a) I agree, I do think that is too much. If it's still got rust, even though it's been blown over, that's a bit no no in my books, and really hurts the value (I think the 3,800 someone mentioned is a pretty reasonable price)

      b) I think this seller is a bit daft to think that we wouldn't have noticed!

Tell him you know how much he got it for (4500) and state your offer.

ask for the receipts and exactly what he's had done. Maybe **** is just getting really expensive these days...

or send a reply saying "IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SELL YOUR CAR THEN DON'T ADVERTISE IT FOR SALE!!"

                  Yes, in capitals.

I can do whatever I like, it is my car. It has costed me more money than you think it has. Dont email me if you are not interested in buying.

                        I got this....

                        to me

Since I got it I had to do a couple of stuff on it such as service on the gearbox and fix a driveshaft leak. Doesn't sound like much but it did cost quite a bit. Car has costed me quite a bit so if you are willing to do above 6000ish, I am willing to talk about it.

6ish sounds much more reasonable, none of this 10k caper.
