Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I was in the UK in the mid 90's and saw this and the green mark1 at GTi interneational. There was also a pale blue mk3 that had 2x vr6 engines. One powering the front wheels and one powering the back. Top top it off I think it was running twin turbos. Number plate was B16 DUB.

Nick was a bit of a legend back when this was first built. He had one of the first G60 MK1s in the country running on 17s. I saw the VR6 MK1 at Dubsport before it went on the road for the first time.

I remember driving down the M6 to Castle Combe for a track day when Ian Birch and Nick plus others hammered past. Nick booted the VR6 and lit up the back tyres and we were doing over the UK limit already.

      An epic project.

I like his comment about his son being old enough to drive and being in his 40s now and not likely to finish it off. How many folk fit into that bracket??

Pretty sure it wasn't Trimsport Velly, I knew them pretty well, lived down there when they first started up and they sold my headlight looms

Lance's MK1 was similar but had some big fibreglass arches on it and was plain red.
