I'm curious about the engine cover. That looks like a GTi engine cover? (Serious question - I thought the mk4 hatches were GTi with 1.8, or 2.0, or 1.6?)

In seriousness though, looks like a steal at $1k! Wouldn't take much to fix it up, it would seem.

There was plenty of 99 and 00 non turbo 20v around. Its a 1.8t with the t.

There was plenty of 99 and 00 non turbo 20v around. Its a 1.8t with the t.

This motor powered the cheap GTI in the UK when the MK4 came out. It was dropped for a 2 litre 8 valve after a year or so. Makes 125hp but is a bit rev happy and torqueless low down.

Be cheap to fix if you could find the panels in black.
