It is under finance , according to the eBay link. The $14k figure is probably under "contract" with the financier....ie you pay this bloke $14k then you have to payout the finance figure.Originally posted by governor22 View PostComment

One would have to be very careful as the finance owing could make it a very expensive car.
I may be wrong but I thought it was illegal to sell a car that is under Finance as is not actually yours till its paid for.
Hes taking a big risk if he wants $14k and bidding is only up to $5,100 with 1 day to go.

I emailed the guy.
"First I want to thank you for question about the car. The car is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it, no damage. Hasn't been involved in any accident. All the necessary papers will be provided along with the car.
The total price is $14.000 AUD including the shipping to your address. Price reduced for quick sale."
"The payment will be made through eBay and only after you will receive the car, i will receive the payment.
It will take around 2-3 working days until you will receive the car and you will have a 3 days inspection period (so you have 3 days to change your mind and refuse or keep the car)."

There are scams like this and they give you a link to make the payment to which is NOT an EBAY or PAYPAL legit link By the time you wake up he will have cleaned out the money and will be gone.Originally posted by pomme View Post

Bet he means you will wait 3 days to get car. About the time to hook a flight to somewhere.
He doesnt say how much is owing on the car either.

Email him back and say U live in Brissy and will come and have a look at it Ask how much is owing to Finance Company.

This is a scam for sure. There's no way someone is gonna sell a 3yo Golf R for $14K. eBay accounts can get hijacked. I'm happy to be proved wrong but I'd suggest not bidding on this unless you can at the very least inspect the car.Comment

there have been a couple of almost identical ebay adds to this, that have been discussed here over the years
Making verbal contact has always been impossible as the seller states to be in afganastan or some such place serving his or her country
