Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Spotted this beauty on carsales.

    Seller mentions "One of the first 5 of this model in Australia, it is unnumbered".
    I think mine is one of the 5 as mine is unnumbered....

    The origial 5 brought in to the country for the motor journo's & VW to do their test drives etc with. Current owner is the 3rd owner the first being the former CEO of VW back in 04 when the R32 first got here. The 2nd being the current owners boss

      Yeah i heard ^ from someone too.

      I'm sure mine is one of these 5.

      I reckon I can spot things I didnt get if you were to purchase a numbered one.

      - Plaque
      - Umbrella / Keyrings
      - Rear oval carpet clips

      Possibly more!!

        so that means that those 5 cars were thrashed from day one. hmmmm, i'd stay away from it

          - Plaque is the main ticket, Umbrella, key rings & the box it came with might as well be hens teeth at this age, unless you buy it from the original owner.... I know that guy has the keyring but it's hard 8years of work...

          Rear oval clips, I don't think mine even had those??? Can't remember....

          HAHA, couldn't be anyworse then how majority of them have probably been treated over the years, as long as they've been well serviced & maintained it shouldn't matter too much...
